The tenderness of excitement is one that can only be held at bay for so long, eventually you have to give in to temptation, you have to open the box and peer, like a smiling, giddy Pandora, into the abyss and let the magic out. It is a magic, a substance of expression into which falls from the sky with proud and glad tidings the archetype of great bands The Buffalo Riot and their album Pale Blue Oceans.

Riots can come in all shapes and sizes, they can be easily silenced and quelled, they can become so meaningful that revolutions are given birth from their humble beginnings and like all popular uprisings, nearly always stem from one particular cause or pursuit. In the case of the superb The Buffalo Riot, the root cause is simple, the sound is wholesome and harmonious even when for the purposes of an acoustic gig they slim down from their normal five piece to a slender and melody driven twosome.

A riot by any other name can still sound just as sweet, however, a riot, the eruption of sound associated with The Buffalo Riot is almost without equal and to that end even the great plains of America would shudder with greater exposure and bounding resonance to this terrific band than a million buffalo or bison could manage as they stampede in unison.
