The worn out old maxim associated with state surveillance that goes “If you don’t do anything wrong then you have nothing to be concerned about”, has been proven to be a falsehood that has been adopted by the untrustworthy and the cynical on both sides of the political spectrum as absolute mantra, a modern hymn in which to beat the masses into a behaviour pattern to which the instruments and threats of damnation could now only look upon as truly effective and a one true god.

Cast: Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Sylvester Stallone, Kurt Russell, Elizabeth Debicki, Chris Sullivan, Sean Gunn, Laura Haddock.

All the fun of the original but with added family angst, if you are going to describe Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume Two in any way that resembles a nutshell then you can only go by that, a great family film that has kept Marvel Studios firmly in the top racoon place when it comes to portraying superheroes on film and that D.C. has a long way to go.

Ripper Street: The Incontrovertible Truth. Television Review.

In some respects not much has changed in Whitechapel in 120 years, certainly not where the idea of ghoulish tourism is concerned. Where today the area benefits from the daily Jack the Ripper tours and the sightseers wanting to take on the mantle of roving armchair detective in London’s, even the U.K.’s, more interesting area and immersing themselves into the history of arguably the most notorious murderers to stalk the Earth, it still feels as though it is erring towards the macabre spectacle.

When an American summer blockbuster film uses music by the outstanding British band 10cc in its opening sequences, then surely there can be no argument that it already grabs the attention of the viewer. Graham Gouldman’s and Eric Stewart’s timeless masterpiece only enhances the power to come as the latest tale of heroism from Marvel, The Guardians of The Galaxy, comes out to capture the summer cinema audience.
