Go West never have to send out an elaborate invitation for their fans to attend a night of music delight. The word seems to get out, made easier by 21st Century social media, that Peter Cox and Richard Drummie are going back out on the road, that they will be touring their much loved songs and like the proverbial baseball slogan, the audience comes, and the aisles and the spaces provided near the now neglected seats having irresistible dancing and loud appeals for more thrust ever closer to the stage.

You can really never have too much of watching a great set of musicians perform on stage, a furtive reminisce of singing along to a set of records as teenager and knowing that surrounding you are 2,000 people in the same building doing exactly the same thing and the realisation as you try to take in all their faces that each one of them is almost deliriously happy.

As part of the very cool package which included The Christians and and Hue and Cry, Go West’s Richard Drummie and Peter Cox thrilled an audience completely with their set and gave those thoughts of being a teenager in the 1980s a helping hand with their playful recollections.

Go West kicked off a strong night of soulful rock with their smash hit Don’t Look Down before powering through fan selected songs, including Black and Gold and the beautiful Goodbye Girl, during the first of two sets.

Despite being over 20 years older since Go West burst onto the scene, singer Peter Cox still has one of the greatest voices in music,  If anything, his strong and subtle vocals  are even better now.

Even after 26 years, the musicians and vocalist that make up the band Go West, still have the power to entertain and thrill with their infectious lyrics and well delivered music accompaniment.

Admittedly the band took time from recording and touring out between 1992 and the start of the 21st Century, however time has not diminished the voice of Peter Cox and the ability of Richard Drummie to write exceptional new tunes and return to the early days of their career.
