Monkeywood Bring Sarah McDonald Hughes’ New Play, Flesh, To Ellesmere Port.

The renowned Royal Exchange Theatre, Manchester have joined forces with theatre company Monkeywood to bring their new play FLESH to Ellesmere Port on February 5th. FLESH is a brand new play by Sarah McDonald Hughes, nominated for a prestigious Manchester Theatre Award.

Based on the real experiences of young parents in Manchester, FLESH is a love story about growing up. Set in Wythenshawe, the story follows two young people as they become parents for the first time.

Action Transport Theatre Bring Their Latest Piece Home To Ellesmere Port.

Every living room has its secrets and the kitchen sink has seen its fair share of drama, but this July Action Transport Theatre set the stage in real Ellesmere Port homes, turning bedrooms and bathrooms into mini-theatres between July 25th and July 28th and will be directed by Nina Hajiyianna.

Following the successes of productions like 10 Tiny Plays (Chester Literature Festival), House is the newest production from Action Transport Theatre’s Young Actors. With a cast made up of local actors aged between 10 and 21, House promises to be an extraordinary and enlightening theatre experience.

Merseyside undisputedly produces some great bands of every music genre that it is possible to list and yet somehow in amongst the maelstrom and cacophony of disparate tunes and compositions, heavy metal doesn’t get that much of a look in. Very few bands have touched upon the field of crashing and brutal guitars placed within the heart of a superb drum beat and told the tale in Liverpool. From out of the darkness come the Wirral’s Buckle Tongue and one of the new great bands to watch out for in 2013.
