The Liverpool Arab Arts Festival Returns In 2013 Bigger And Better Than Before.

Liverpool Arab Arts Festival (formerly Arabic) returns to the city this year for its twelfth festival. Join a culturally rich collection of talented artists from across the Arab world from the 17th May to the 14th July. LAAF 2013 promises to be bigger and better than ever before, offering something for everyone.

The main festival runs from the 7th to the 16th June in various venues across the city and is bookended with I Exist (in some way), a major photography exhibition running from 17th May to 14th July. Expect to see work from Arab artists in a whole host of genres, including music, theatre, art, exhibitions, food, film, family activities and dance.

Alexei Sayle Comes Home For An Evening With Clapperboard Presents…

On Monday 22nd April, one of Liverpool’s favourite sons, Alexei Sayle will be returning to the city as the next guest of the long established series Clapperboard Presents…his varied career spans across many genres working as a comic, novelist, actor and columnist. His 2008 series about his hometown, Alexei Sayle’s Liverpool, was one of the B.B.C.’s flagship events to mark Liverpool’s year as European Capital of Culture.

His television comedy career includes six series of Alexei Sayle’s Stuff for the B.B.C., playing the whole Balowski family in The Young Ones and several films in The Comic Strip Presents series. Other television includes Miss Marple for I.T.V. to be shown later this year.

The Epstein Theatre has already established itself as a theatre of repute in the last few weeks as it has hosted the superb play about Brian Epstein’s life to incredible audiences and stunning reactions from crowds. With a rare day off for the theatre with the festive period rapidly approaching, the stalls were filled for the launch of the Liverpool Arabic Arts Festival’s Funny Arabs introduced by Razanne Carmey.
