A Second Barry White Christmas Forecast For Liverpool This Year.

The show that stormed EchoTwo @ Liverpool’s Echo Arena for five nights last Christmas is back by popular demand for a three week run at the Echo Arena’s sister venue The Auditorium. Dave Kirby’s grown-up festive treat and the only Christmas-themed show in town Dreaming of a Barry White Christmas, will run from Monday 15th Dec – Sat 3rd January 2015 and tickets are on public sale on Fri 2nd May!

Cast Announced For Kneehigh And Everyman’s Dead Dog In A Suitcase (And Other Love Songs).

Kneehigh and the Everyman and Playhouse join creative forces this summer with a radical re-working of Jon Gay’s political and musical play, The Beggar’s Opera. Called Dead Dog in a Suitcase (and other love songs), the brand new show will open at the newly rebuilt Everyman theatre from Saturday 21st June to Saturday 12th July before Kneehigh return to Cornwall with the production in The Lost Gardens of Heligan from 30th August.

This new show from writer Carl Grose features a brilliant company of Kneehigh actor musicians including Giles King, Patrycja Kuwaska, Ian Ross and Audrey Brisson.

Gianni Russo, Carlo Rizzi In The Godfather, To Perform At The Static Gallery This June.

Flying in from New York, actor, singer and raconteur, Gianni Russo, best known for his role as Carlo Rizzi in The Godfather, travels to Liverpool on the 26th June to perform a very special tribute to old blue eyes Frank Sinatra at The Static Gallery as part of the International Festival for Business Cultural Programme in Liverpool.

This May, the Royal Court Liverpool will be co-producing a brand new comedy written by and starring Claire Sweeney and Mandy Muden!

St. George’s Hall Great Hall To Host L ’Orchestra dell’Arte In May.

The Great Hall within Liverpool’s St George’s Hall will once again be filled with live classical music on Saturday 17th May in the third concert in the series for Organ and Orchestra.

The St George’s Hall orchestra-in-residence L ’Orchestra dell’Arte, are this season, bringing three concerts under the musical direction of their conductor Edward Peak. Edward is widely known to music lovers in the region from his career with the R.L.P.O and B.B.C.

Liverpool Theatre Company, What We Did Next, Celebrates Its Fifth Birthday.

City centre based theatre company, What We Did Next CIC, turns five in May. Established in 2008, the company celebrates five years since its inaugural production of Stephen Sondheim’s Company, at the Kazimier in May 2009.

The company is marking this milestone with a concert featuring songs from their previous productions, as well as other musical theatre numbers and several adaptations of pop classics. The concert will be performed by the WWDN Singers, a choir set up as part of the company, giving members an alternative to being involved in full-scale productions. This free, non-auditioned choir gives the company a focus between shows and extends the company’s appeal.

The Legendary John Cooper Clarke To Perform At Camp And Furnace.

With an incredible 2013 under his belt, John Cooper Clarke has embarked on his hotly anticipated national 2014 tour with a phenomenal schedule (increased due to public demand) taking him right through to November. The tour includes a night at Camp and Furnace on the 14th November.

One of Britain’s best loved and most important performance poets, John Cooper Clarke is as vital now as he was in the 70s. His acerbic, satirical, political and very funny verse, delivered in a unique rapid-fire performance style, resonated with the punk movement. J.C.C. toured with all the seminal bands at that time; The Sex Pistols, The Clash & Buzzcocks, and in the U.S.A. with Elvis Costello. This led to him drawing large crowds in his own right. Joy Division frequently supported J.C.C., and New Order later opened for him on their first Australian tour.

In the 19th century Karl Marx used the vampire as a metaphor for the capitalist class he saw around him. Burjesta Theatre have taken that idea and applied it to the times we live in today and thrown in a little bit of Blade, a sprinkling of Jason Bourne and a great soundtrack of music to get your feet tapping and your hips swaying as Burjesta Theatre present Reign of Vampires at the Casa on Hope Street on Saturday 10th, Monday 12th, Wednesday 14th, Friday 16th and Saturday 17th May.
