Claire Sweeney And Mandy Muden To Bring New Comedy To The Royal Court This June.

This May, the Royal Court Liverpool will be co-producing a brand new comedy written by and starring Claire Sweeney and Mandy Muden!

Sex And The Suburbs is a brilliant show for anyone who has ever been in a relationship. Packed with laughs and songs, the show delves into the stories of real women everywhere.

Mandy Muden stars as Penny Crowe, host of a late-night radio phone in and Britain’s leading Agony Aunt. Claire Sweeney is her co-host Willow Wallace and together they take calls about every date from hell and the occasional one from heaven.

Along with their producer, Rory Reynolds (played by Carl Patrick) they are more than happy to dish out relationship advice but less happy to take it!

The show is based on true stories from real women and all of the parts are played by the three actors. The show is packed full of hit songs including I’m Every Woman, I Want To Break Free and Somebody Else’s Guy. It is guaranteed to be a great girls’ night out.

Ken Alexander directs the show which is a co-production with London producer Jamie Wilson. The show will make its debut here in Liverpool with plans to tour in the future.

Claire Sweeney is looking forward to the show, she said, “It’s a great show for men and women and it targets a mix of ages so there is something for everyone. We’ve got an older woman trying to find a man, and then a younger woman going on a date and meeting a guy who doesn’t take his head out of his mobile phone. It’s a bit rude but funny, tongue in cheek.”

Kevin Fearon, producer and Chief Executive of Royal Court Liverpool, is glad to be working with the cast, “This is a real feel good comedy and I’m sure the audience will let their hair down. Claire and Mandy have got a great script and they are working really hard in rehearsals with Carl and Ken. This is pure entertainment and the Royal Court is going to be rocking for the whole of May!

Sex And The Suburbs runs at Royal Court Liverpool from Friday 9th May to Saturday 7th June 2014 and tickets are available from £12. Tickets and information are available from 0870 787 1866 or royalcourtliverpool.com.
