What We Did Next And Shaun Holdom-Eyles Bring Carousel To The Unity Theatre.

Liverpool-based theatre company, What We Did Next (WWDN), performs a Rogers and Hammerstein classic, Carousel, at the Unity Theatre Between Wednesday 4th and June 7th. Carousel, voted Time magazine’s best musical of the 20th century, was the second to be written by well-known duo Richard Rogers (book and lyrics) and Oscar Hammerstein II (music).

The story centres around Billy Bigelow, a carefree carousel barker, whose romance with naïve millworker, Julie Jordan, comes at a price. Billy is coerced into assisting a robbery to provide for his unborn child, however things do not quite go to plan. Billy then finds himself in the unlikely position of being given a chance to put things right and we see him encounter his daughter for the first time.

Lord Michael Heseltine To Be Next Interviewee For Little Atoms’ In Conversation Series.

Little Atom Productions are delighted to announce that Lord Michael Heseltine will be their next interviewee in the hugely successful In Conversation series. Appearing at St George’s Hall on Tuesday 17 June, the event also forms part of the official cultural programme of the 2014 International Festival for Business.

Former Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Secretary, Lord Heseltine is the latest in an impressive portfolio of high profile guests participating in the increasingly popular In Conversation series, which has previously featured legendary Liverpool crime writer Lynda La Plante and retired Liverpool and England footballer Jamie Carragher sharing their life stories.

OneRepublic To Perform In Liverpool In October.

Fresh from their sold-out run of shows in March, including dates at London’s Roundhouse and Royal Albert Hall, OneRepublic have announced their return to the U.K. with two huge shows – taking to the stage at Liverpool Echo Two at Echo Arena on Tuesday October 21st and their biggest U.K. headline show to date at The O2 in London on Wednesday October 22nd.

In just two weeks’ time Liverpool’s St George’s Hall are set to bring you another haunting week of the popular Catacombs tours. Exploring the darker heart of Liverpool’s most celebrated and historic building, the tours return by popular demand from Mon 26th May – Sun 1st June which sent chills down the spine of thousands of people who came along to the initial run of the sell-out tours in February.

Now theatrical company Lovehistory are set to return with a whole host of actors portraying new characters, within new areas and with new stories from Liverpool’s murderous past. Experience The Catacombs of Liverpool’s Darkest History and peel back the layers of yesteryear to reveal what lies within the heart of St George’s Hall’s dark past.

Clean Bandit To Perform In Liverpool This October.

Following their recent sold-out U.K headline tour, Clean Bandit are very pleased to announce details of more U.K headline shows, which will take place throughout October and November. The autumn tour, which will include a date at London’s Brixton Academy, kicks off at Newcastle’s O2 Academy on October 12th, before coming to Liverpool’s 02 Academy on October 16th. Tickets go on general sale on Friday 16th May from 9am.

The Magic Band To Perform At Eric’s At The End Of May.

Captain Beefheart’s wildly influential and seminal band, comprising original members Denny Walley, Mark Boston, John French, return to Eric’s, Liverpool this May. The group’s members span all the different periods of The Magic Band’s history.

Sharing the vision of celebrating the music of the late Don Van Vliet aka Captain Beefheart, original members Denny “Feelers Rebo” Walley, Mark “Rockette Morton” Boston, and John “Drumbo” French share the stage with guitarist Eric Klerks and drummer, Andrew Niven to re-visit the classic Beefheart tunes with renewed fervour.

Allerton Brass To Entertain Audiences At The Capstone Theatre This May.

Joining the eclectic spring programme, The Capstone Theatre is delighted to welcome back Allerton Brass.  Performing a live series of cinematic pieces from movies that we all know and love, they come to the Capstone for one night only on Saturday 24th May.

Established in Liverpool, the 28-piece band will present an evening of classical pieces from a variety of music from the movies. Whether it is the romance of Gone with the Wind and Romeo and Juliet, being “shaken not stirred” with James Bond, re-living childhood memories with Disney or simply being moved by Private Ryan, there will be something for everyone. Not only that, the ensemble will be joined with a significant helping by John Williams, one of the most successful movie composers of all time – making the movie concert the complete package.

Cast Announced For The Full Monty Stage Show At The Liverpool Empire Theatre.

In 1997, a British film about six out-of-work Sheffield steelworkers with nothing to lose, took the world by storm becoming one of the most successful British films ever made. Now, the boys are back, only this time, they really have to go The Full Monty…live on stage.

Simon Beaufoy, the Oscar winning writer of the film, has gone all the way with this hilarious and heartfelt adaptation that’s getting standing ovations every night and in which will be coming to the Liverpool Empire Theatre for one week only from the 20th-25th October 2014.
