With Glory’ first shot under way, the sunshine that beats down onto the Augusta greens looks on enviously as every piece of grass looks as though it has been cut individually with a pair of scissors. On the opening day of the Masters 2016, it might come down to planning, fortitude and will that will prevail for glory’s first shot.

Cold In Thought.
It is cold out here in the April night…
for the Spring brings round
once again the thoughts
of bitter, distant feeling
and the detachment
from those I once held so dear.
In winter I can hold off the tales
of chilly formality by stoking
the fires of resentment,
my own poke in the gas filled grate
of which I would never
speak out loud.
In summer, the lazy days
in which the sun burns
down and turns the river bed
Dan Patlansky, Introvertigo. Album Review.
Liverpool Sound and Vision Rating 9/10
It doesn’t seem five minutes since Dan Patlansky was wooing a new audience with his outrageously delightful debut album, Dear Silence Thieves, but life in the modern era doesn’t allow the fortune of resting upon one’s laurels and the carefree wish of finding solitude for a while, a sort of peace in which to hit the audience again with wisely chosen words and sublime guitar is lost.
She Drew The Gun, Memories Of The Future. Album Review.
Liverpool Sound and Vision Rating 8.5/10
Memory is what keeps us unique, the powers that be, in whatever shape and form they may take, will always try to change that, they will find a way to make what you believe happened somehow wrong, incorrect, obsolete; they will do this to make your memory questionable and dishonest. By holding onto your memory it makes their job harder to change you as a person and if there is one individual you don’t want to change, that you want forever to stay unique and matchless, that is Louisa Roach and She Drew The Gun.
Brakin’ Pad, Theatre Review. Unity Theatre, Liverpool.
Liverpool Sound and Vision Rating * * * *
Cast: Donna Lesley Price, Richie Grice, Mick Colligan, Shaun Fagan, Tony James, Craig McGrath, Barry Mason.
The local garage, a realm in which to enter is arguably at your own risk, a place where language seems to change and the understanding of how life works can immediately be thrown out of the arena, a place in which perhaps certain modes of behaviour still exist and in which to find female company should not only be applauded but one that might bemuse in some way.
Bugger The Brandy.
I gave up the drink
because I found
I was too good at it,
in the end no amount of Scotch
could take me down
but a small sniff of Brandy,
could truly screw my head apart
as I found one afternoon
in Oxford.
I could dive bomb with Dublin
water and sink the black
on the pool table all night long
but a sniff of Brandy would lead
to all sorts of problems.
Richard and I could drink Gin
whilst playing snooker, one night we barely
Jeff Lynne’s E.L.O., Gig Review. Echo Arena, Liverpool.
Liverpool Sound and Vision Rating 9/10
It might have been shock, it was more than likely reverential, but the early applause for some of rather ear catching songs played by Jeff Lynne’s E.L.O. was certainly building up to the cascade, the utter crescendo of wall to wall sound that would eventually come pouring down upon the Echo Arena, would be one that would have justified completely the decision by the much loved man from Birmingham to bring back his version of E.L.O. to the arenas and venues of the country.
The Feeling, Gig Review. Echo Arena, Liverpool.
Liverpool Sound and Vision Rating * * * *
Opening up for legends might be the finest double edged sword possible, not so much a weapon of Damocles, the weight of the movement swaying precariously and with a semi inclination towards amusement, but one that comes out of the lake held aloft by a woman with excellent lung capacity and with all the drama of Camelot at her disposal; The Feeling may not have been anointed Kings of Pop in Liverpool for the night but they did a damn marvellous job of opening for the regal elect inside the Echo Arena.
Battles In An Unused Kitchen.
A dash of cinnamon
injures the air and the coal black
taste of Parsley, a green
and pleasant memory
of white sauce dancing,
now lays sterile, dead
upon the plate where mouldy
residue starts to grow, reach maturity,
the sweet lament of honey
and the poison tip of angry ochre
sweats in the glass jar, awaiting Time
and thyme again
to carry out the nefarious deed
of putrefying the steak, of leaving dissatisfaction
with the entrée and the mode of entry
for the serrated knife;
