Nightlife collective, SisBis, Book World-Renowned Mr Bongo To Play Alongside Giovanna And Sofie K for their first show at 24 Kitchen Street, Liverpool.

Still buzzing from their one-year birthday party, SisBis announce Mr Bongo at 24 Kitchen Street, Liverpool on Friday 23rd November.

Record label, record store, film label and DJs since 1989; Mr Bongo’s work is massively influential far and wide. The duo’s selections will include unexpected Brazilian, Latin, Soul, Hip Hop and Psychedelic sounds.

NTS resident and Manchester-based Sofie Ka’s wacky sound is distinctly nostalgic, blending dreamy psychedelic guitars with pumping italo and disco numbers. Over the past few years she has appeared alongside Jayda G, Powder, Donna Leake, Nosedrip, Jon K and more.

Completing the line-up is SisBis resident, Giovanna, whose collection of records, shows and radio appearances is expanding exponentially. The last few months have seen her share the stage with artists such as Sun Ra Arkestra, Detroit Swindle and Auntie Flo as well as appear as a guest on NTS radio, Red Light Radio, Amsterdam and Liverpool’s Melodic Distraction.

Giovanna, resident DJ and one third of all-female music collective SisBis said, Over the last year we’ve grown as a collective and had some amazing nights in Liverpool. We’re really happy that we can put on a party that attracts such a warm and lovely crowd. Our next show with Mr Bongo is particularly special to us as they have been a real inspiration to us musically, and we know everyone will love dancing to them! We’re really proud that SisBis is a collective of three women dedicated to putting on events that raise money for a really worthwhile cause.”

As usual any proceeds go to help Refugee Women Connect – a charity that supports refugee and asylum-seeking women – especially mothers – who have settled in our city, Liverpool. Guests can bring nappies, period products and baby clothes and SisBis will drop them at Refugee Women Connect headquarters on their behalf.
