Liza Pulman Comes To The Liverpool Philharmonic Hall Pays Homage To One Of The Greatest Voices Of All Time.

A unique collaboration of one of the finest voices and one of the finest brass bands in the U.K. has just been announced. Liverpool Philharmonic Hall has been selected as one of the venues to host an evening on Sunday 29th April.

Liza Pulman, the acclaimed singer & comedienne and one third of the satirical and much-loved comedy trio Fascinating Aida, has recorded a double A-side single, You Don’t Bring Me Flowers/The Way We Were, a reworking of the classic Barbra Streisand classic songs featuring Liza with her band alongside the world-famous Brighouse & Rastrick Band, the current U.K. National Champions.

Liza opens her 18 date U.K. tour this weekend but for 2 dates only (including Liverpool) she collaborates with the special band.

Liza’s mother, the actress Barbra Young was born in Brighouse and Liza travelled to the town to record with the band in their famous bandroom.

Liza Pulman said “I am so excited to bring this very special evening of entertainment to the beautiful Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, which I have played in many times before. This concert is going to mean a lot to me, not only for my love of Barbara Streisand, but also to perform with this world-famous band. Liverpool audiences are in for a very special treat.”

Showbiz is in Liza’s blood. Her performance dreams started young, just like Streisand’s. As the daughter of screenwriter Jack Pulman (I, Claudius, War and Peace) and actress Barbara Young (Coronation Street, Family Affairs, Last of the Summer Wine), Liza’s parents immersed her in a world of film, scripts, acting and music at a young age, which set her up perfectly for a career on the stage. Her mother once met Streisand, and it is stories like this that Liza weaves between songs, bringing not just her exceptional voice, but her storytelling and her own personal slant on Streisand’s life and music to the stage.

Tickets are priced from £17 (plus per booking admin fee for telephone and online bookings). To book go online at www.liverpoolphil.com, by phone on 0151 7093789 or go in person to the Box office at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall.
