Susannah Freeman Brings One-Woman Show Floating To The Unity Theatre.

Everyone has a story to tell about the N.H.S. The much admired organisation is so intrinsically woven into the fabric of British life that it is impossible to ignore and now a one-woman show starring Susannah Freeman and written and directed by Sam Freeman is on tour and coming to the Unity Theatre at the end of May.

Floating is a one-woman show about life as a high-dependency nurse in the N.H.S., taking in the stresses, strains but also joys of working in the health service. Written after extensive research including interviews with serving NHS staff the play seeks to explore how we, as a nation, treat our health service, how we regard the people who work in, and our relationship with the people around us.

Terrible food, waiting lists, infections, inefficiency and complaints, alongside every scare is an unheard story of compassion and kindness. What are the stories from the caring face of the health service?

Lives Of Others Theatre are proud to present the touring production of a moving and powerful drama following a day in the life of a high-dependency nurse working today in the N.H.S. Written by playwright and director Sam Freeman and performed by Susannah Freeman, Floating is a verbatim play that uses interview material with current N.H.S. nurses, doctors and support staff to weave together an emotionally truthful and honest story that is relevant politically, socially and emotionally.

Susannah Freeman trained at Arts Educational School in London. Her credits include extensive work with Big Wheel Theatre Company and Y-Touring Theatre Company. She performed in 2007 at The Lowry in Victory Street, as part of the National Youth Theatre. While training at Arts Ed. she appeared in The Blue Room, Macbeth, Follies and Loveplay. Floating is her first one-woman show.

Welcome to the beating heart of the N.H.S.

Floating is on at the Unity Theatre on Tuesday 28th and Thursday 30th May. Tickets for the play are available from the Unity Theatre Box office, online at www.unitytheatreliverpool.co.uk or by telephone on 0844 8732888.
