Gabrielle Aplin To Release New Album And Tour During 2013.

Gabrielle Aplin will release her debut album for Parlophone Records on May 13th. Entitled English Rain, the album was recorded with Mike Spencer (Rudimental, Alex Clare) in his Buckingham studio over a period of 6 months. Gabrielle wrote or co-wrote all the new songs on the album, and played the majority of the instruments herself. Following on from her second single Please Don’t Say You Love Me, which debuted at Number 6 on the singles chart, English Rain is preceded by a third single Panic Cord, scheduled for release on May 6th.

To further whet the appetite of her fans, Gabrielle will also be going out on tour this October and November starting in Newcastle at the o2 Academy on October 29th before coming to Liverpool on November 4th.  She will also be appearing at such venues as Birmingham’s Institute on November 5th, Bournemouth’s o2 Academy on the 12th before finishing at Nottingham’s Rock City on the 16th.

The whipsmart self taught 20 year old singer songwriter from Bath, Gabrielle has been writing and recording songs since she was 15. Growing up in a (self confessed) ‘hippy’ household where music was a family staple, she honed her craft listening to Joni Mitchell, Bruce Springsteen and Nick Drake. At 17 she set up her own label Never Fade Records (just recently she announced her first signing), and went on to release 3 E.P.s, all of which charted on iTunes. Her debut single, the cover of Frankie Goes To Hollywood’s The Power Of Love, went to  Number 1 on the singles chart in December 2012.

On her songwriting Gabrielle says, “It can take minutes, hours or weeks. Each one is different, but I’ve been working on this album now for months, from writing to recording – even being involved with the artwork – and I can’t wait for everyone to finally hear it.”

Tickets for Gabrielle Aplin’s show at the o2 Academy, Liverpool are on sale from Friday 15th March at 9. am and are available from the Academy Box office on Hotham Street. Tickets for the show are priced at £14.
