Cafe Chaos To Provide Great Comedy At The Unity Theatre.

Comic confusion spills from the kitchen, waiters and diners collide, lovers meet, identities are traded, secrets uncovered, denial and betrayal tear friendships apart; dangerous comedy and a tragic night out are just some of the specials on the menu at Café Chaos.

Conceived and directed by Siân Williams and Michael Merwitzer, designed by Jenny Carey and with a scenario by Roger Farrell, the multi-talented cast of Café Chaos conjure a night of physical and verbal extravagance.

Café Chaos is set in a busy London café bar. The main characters are Ilana the owner, two waiters Katerina and Nikolay, the chef Gyorgi (all immigrants) and the Professor. They are played by four performers who also play different customers. Café Chaos takes a close look at prejudices and denial in a humorous, down to earth way. It mixes physical comedy, theatre, dance and music with a great story.

Café Chaos will appeal to all ages. It’s a classic Kosh production; funny, superbly skilful, gloriously theatrical and guaranteed to keep the audience on the edge of their seats.

The play stars Joanna Croll (The Widowing of Mrs Holroyd (New Vic ) and Oh What a Lovely War (Northern Stage), Jamie Matthewman (King Lear, The Tempest and Much Ado About Nothing (Orange Tree Theatre), Hamlet 1603 (White Bear Theatre); Live Like Pigs (Royal Court) and Abigail’s Party (London Classic Theatre), Sam Parks (You Can’t Take it With You (Royal Exchange Theatre), Smash! (Menier Chocolate Factory), A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Timon Of Athens (Shakespeare’s Globe), I Am Shakespeare (Chichester Festival Theatre), Oliver Twist (Library Theatre), The Tempest and Two Noble Kinsmen (Shakespeare’s Globe) and Siân Williams. Siân Williams trained at the London College of Dance and Drama. She founded The Kosh dance theatre company with Michael Merwitzer in 1982 since when she has performed in all of its nineteen shows in venues throughout the U.K. and in over twenty countries worldwide. She has also worked for Opera North, The Factory and Shakespeare’s Globe.
