Even if you don’t know anything by the band it is well worth checking out the fantastic Eagles of Death Metal when they come back to Britain on their next tour, for as they constantly prove, they are among the best rock acts around today. They show right from the start of a gig that they are out to give a performance that will be remembered fondly by their fans and newcomers alike for a long time.

Front man Jesse Hughes has become one of the biggest and most fun assets to the genre to date, his attitude on stage is reminiscing of the last great Bon Scott as he preens and stalks round the stage in a manner befitting his stature.

The show itself was one of loveable innuendo, full of songs that highlighted just how good the band are just three albums in and almost high octane energy that threatened to shake everybody by the neck till they pledged allegiance to the group.

Although other founder member Josh Homme was not on stage with the band, didn’t detract from the gig itself and in respect to the lads from California it worked without him as they played songs from their back catalogue and a selection of songs from their latest album Heart On.

Guitarist Dave Catching was on top of his game as he played along with Jesse drawing the audience in as if somehow sharing a private joke with them. This joke was taken wonderfully as they proceeded to play the Steelers Wheel classic Stuck in the Middle With You.

A thumping, awesome evening was bought to a close with a uproarious version of I Only Want You from the album Peace, Love, Death Metal and the outrageous Cherry Cola which bought this part of the long tour to an end.
