Perhaps the idea of admission of guilt or even worry is one step too far to cope with after a bottle of wine or two. Even the Half A Bottle Gone may be too much for some to comprehend the seriousness of a life that has been turned upside down by one moment’s indiscretion.

Half A Bottle Gone by Ian Walker deals with before and after, the moments where you blurt out a secret that has been tearing away at your soul and the moment when you first saw the life you lead turn dramatically inside out.

Bryony Lavery’s play More Light tells the story of the recently deceased Chinese Emperor who, in order to keep the location of his tomb a secret had not only himself encased within the tomb but his entire army of craftsmen, builders and his finest courtiers. Also immured are his five young infertile wives. These women have had the best food and lived secure and luxurious lives, but now they are faced with making the most horrendous decisions in order to stay alive. Human behaviour pushed to the very limits are explored in this dramatic hour long performance directed and performed by YEP (Young Everyman Playhouse.)

Cast: Jackie Jones, Nuala Maguire, Marie Westcott, Sarah Keating, Becky Brooks, Sophie Smith, Josie Sedgewick Davies, Maggie Quinlan.

Four plays written, edited, practised and performed inside 24 hour whilst all the while at the back of the minds of all involved with Lady Parts Theatre the small nagging doubt that this perhaps can be a jump too far for all participating in the project. Assemble was the rallying call and assemble with flying colours they did, all present and correct, suitably attired and as a bonus were just magnificent.
