Access Folk Reveal Research Project To Aid Diversity Participation In English Folk Singing.

As part of an ambitious five-year long research project, Access Folk are recruiting for consulting groups as they investigate ways to increase and diversify participation in English Folk singing.

As part of the investigation and consultation, Access Folk will be asking:

What is the place of folk singing in contemporary England?

How do people want to engage with English cultural traditions through song?

How can we facilitate participation in folk singing in England?

Leading the research will be Dr. Fay Hield from The University of Sheffield, and Folk Singer herself. The team of academics and community partners will be working together to identify the current problems and test out potential solutions.
