The story is never complete.

What was once considered enough to wet the lips and stoke the appetite of the film lover and television watcher, has in recent years become a slot filler. The story has taken on a different direction with television leading the way, expanding a universe that perhaps had enough tension and pace in them to not require another tale being weaved into the original text.

If comedy is subjective and can rise and fall with whatever the fashion of the day dictates then at some point, we must expect almost every historical scenario to be discussed as potential for a sitcom, or at the least as backdrop and discussion in which to drive the genre forwards.

There is no greater story of fiction than that which is housed in fact.

A trilogy is only as good as its final part. If you can stomach that declaration then understanding is part of your deal, for a trilogy means nothing if the ending is unbelievable, if it goes against everything that has been set up in good faith before, then the whole structure falls apart, it becomes worthless, the one willing to sit through an entire season, take pleasure in the excitement of the ending, might arguably feel cheated, will feel the waves of cynical impression forced upon their time.

The Western genre doesn’t die, it just finds new ways to menace the airwaves and pump new belief into what was a form of storytelling that had its supposed day by the time that science fiction became big business.

H G Wells and Jules Verne, two men for whom readers can bestow the title of the Godfather of Science Fiction, perhaps can arguably claim from the beyond that their work has not had the best of treatments when it comes to large screen or television adaptations. It is almost as if the text is too outlandish, too peculiar to capture the essence of their finest works, leaving the fan to console themselves with the imagination and the novels at their disposal.
