Austrian Guitar Sensation To Hold U.K. Launch Of New Album In Liverpool.

Austrian guitar sensation Tom Strasser will be holding the U.K. launch of his new album at Liverpool Acoustic Live on Friday 27th June 2014 at Mathew Street’s View Two Gallery.

Tom Strasser last played in Liverpool in August 2012 and caused FATEA Magazine reviewer Peter Cowley to write “Fabulous stuff – if you ever get the chance to see Tom, do so, because he will blow you away.” Tom is currently touring Europe to promote his new album Second Thoughts and has chosen Liverpool as the place to launch it in the U.K.

British Musical Based On Alan Bennett Favourite, Betty Blue Eyes, Gets Regional Première At The Playhouse.

This summer a 21-strong cast will take to the Playhouse stage for the regional première production of Betty Blue Eyes. The George Stiles and Anthony Drewe musical based on the Alan Bennett film A Private Function played to critical acclaim in the West End in 2011, picking up an Olivier Award nomination for Best New Musical. This updated production marries Alan Bennett’s hilarious story with a wonderfully witty musical score and is at the Playhouse from 9th July to 2nd August.

House of Suarez Return With The 2014 Vogue Ball.

Prepare to be blasted on a futuristic journey that is truly out of this world, as the fierce and fabulous multi award-winning Vogue Ball returns for its fifth birthday with The Space Oddity. On Saturday 4th October, the Vogue Ball’s new 2014 venue The Rum Warehouse in Liverpool’s historic docklands will be transformed in to an incredible intergalactic Space Station.

Brian Conley Comes To Liverpool’s Empire Theatre For Stage Spectacular Barnum.

Cameron Mackintosh and Michael Harrison are delighted to announce the national tour of the Cameron Mackintosh and Chichester Festival Theatre smash hit production of the musical BARNUM starring Brian Conley as ‘PT Barnum’ and Linzi Hateley as ‘Chairy’. BARNUM will play the Liverpool Empire from 19th – 23rd May 2015.

Merseyside’s Finest Take To The Stage For One Night Only!

LHK Productions returns in 2014 with their amazing celebration of Merseyside talent, One Night Only. After successful shows at the Liverpool Empire in 2010 and Southport Theatre & Warrington Parr Halls in 2011 the show will be making its way, due to popular demand, to the Epstein Theatre and The Atkinson this autumn.

One Night Only is a feel good variety performance with some of your favourite Merseyside personalities as the stars of the show. This must see production includes show-stopping numbers from the world of musical theatre which has All That Jazz and enough Razzle Dazzle to leave you wanting more than one night only.

M People’s Heather Small Announced As Part Of This Year’s Liverpool Pride.

Liverpool Pride are ‘Proud’ to announce the latest act to perform at this year’s event. 1990s chart topper Heather Small of M People will take to the waterfront stage on Saturday 2nd August as part of what is becoming a fantastic line-up of entertainment for Pride’s ‘Glam Fairy Tales’ themed event and 5th Birthday.

Heather Small will join headline act Katy B on the Waterfront stage along with 80s pop songstress Sonia on the Stanley Street stage. With under two months until Liverpool Pride, many more acts are soon be announced.

Grin Theatre Bring Back Queertet For Third Year Running.

Queertet, The award-nominated festival of LGBT theatre is back and for the third time and is bigger, bolder and even more brazen!

Grin Theatre Company presents Queertet 2014, featuring four LGBT themed plays from three Liverpool writers and one from a playwright from New York. All four plays have LGBT themes, from a wedding night love triangle in Las Vegas to a world where women are not allowed to exist which is difficult for a lesbian couple!?

Young Everyman Playhouse (YEP) Return To Croxteth Hall For Alice In Wonderland.

This summer, Young Everyman Playhouse present two weeks of events and performances for and by young people that includes a return to Croxteth Hall with a production of Alice in Wonderland. YEP performances will form a major part of the city-wide youth festival, Flux Liverpool, and the company will also be working in partnership with a number of other local companies including Young DaDaFest, Merseyside Youth Theatre Forum, Showrunners, Kuumba Imani, 20 Stories High, Hope St Ltd and the Bluecoat.

Alfie Boe To Perform In Liverpool As Part Of New U.K. Tour.

Alfie Boe, ‘The Nation’s Favourite Tenor’ has confirmed details of his second U.K. arena tour for November and December 2014 including a night at the Liverpool Echo Arena on Sunday 30th November.

In his 2013 tour sold out, which included two nights at London’s Royal Albert Hall, Boe played to almost 80,000 fans.

This new tour follows the news of Alfie’s new album, which is due for release on October 20th, 2014.

Tmesis Theatre And Elinor Randle Return To The Unity Theatre With Wolf Red.

Liverpool’s renowned Tmesis Theatre are proud to announce the return of their most innovative and chilling one woman show, Wolf Red to Unity Theatre this month.

Fresh from the huge success of Physical Fest, Tmesis Theatre will return to Unity Theatre on Tuesday 24th and Wednesday 25th June with their captivating original production, Wolf Red, with tickets on sale now.

Devised by Chris Fittock and Tmesis Theatre Wolf Red is the dark and compelling story of a woman held captive, deep in the woods, by a predator of perhaps both her mind and body. Exploring the darkest limits of human nature, this skilful, physical performance from Tmesis Theatre’s artistic director, Elinor Randle will mesmerise audiences with her remarkable and chilling transformation.
