Liverpool’s Karaoke Royalty Wanted For Middle Child’s Us Against Whatever.

The Everyman and theatre company Middle Child are on the lookout for Liverpool’s best karaoke kings and queens, to belt out a song during the new show Us Against Whatever from 20th-23rd March.

Known for breaking the conventions of traditional theatre, Middle Child want audiences on stage to join the cast in performing some riotous karaoke.

Set in a northern karaoke bar, Us Against Whatever is an electrifying cabaret. Taking audiences back to 2016, with the Brexit vote on the horizon, the story follows Anna and Steph.  Both looking for a place to call home, Polish woman Anna is questioning her decision to move to the U.K. and Steph, from Hull, watches as her city changes under austerity.

Feisty Females In Fighting Mood At Hope Street Theatre This April.

A nun with a past, a posh tart and a ruthless business woman are just three of the conniving women in two new black comedies proving that the female is more deadly than the male.

The plays, with all-women casts, are being premiered at Hope Street, Theatre, Liverpool in April.

In Here is Thy Sting Kate, who is dying of cancer, realises that the hospice caring for her is about to go bankrupt. She decides she must save it – no matter what.  And Helen, who cosies up to rich men in The Budding Mantis, is grooming her daughter Charlotte for great things. But Charlotte has her own, very unexpected, plans for them both.

European Blues Award Winner, Erja Lyytinen, Comes To Merseyside As Part Of U.K. In March 2019.

European Blues Award winner Erja Lyytinen returns to the U.K. in March 2019. The 12-date tour will include shows in Brighton (March 18), Sheffield (March 21), Glasgow (March 23), London (March 26) and Birmingham (March 28). The tour will also be coming to the Atkinson Theatre in Southport on March 29th.

Erja will release her new studio album in 2019 on her own record label Tuohi Records. The new album will feature guest performances from Sonny Landreth and Jennifer Batten (Michael Jackson). The album will include Erja’s two new singles Without You and Another World, which were released digitally in 2018.

Samantha Womack Returns To Liverpool For Smash-Hit Thriller The Girl On The Train.

With a month to go, tickets are almost sold out for the stage adaptation of Paula Hawkins’ The Girl on the Train – on at the Liverpool Playhouse from 11th-16th March.

The gritty thriller, which sold over 20 million copies worldwide, will be given new life on stage, as former EastEnders star Samantha Womack performs the lead role of Rachel Watson in this gripping new play.

Rachel longs for a different life. Her only escape is the perfect couple she watches through the train window every day, happy and in love. When Rachel learns that the woman she’s been secretly watching has suddenly disappeared, she finds herself as a witness, and even a suspect, in a thrilling mystery with bigger revelations than she could ever have anticipated.

Regarded as one of the great American songwriters of the 20th century, he penned chart topping hits for artistes such as Dionne Warwick, Cilla Black, Dusty Springfield, Aretha Franklin, Elvis Presley, Gene Pitney, The Carpenters and many more.

Young Everyman Playhouse (Yep) Make Main Stage Debut With Crowd.

Thirty-five young actors from award-winning youth theatre programme Young Everyman Playhouse (YEP) will make their debut on the Playhouse main stage from 27th February to 2nd March, with a new devised piece – Crowd.

Following on from previous productions of The City and the Value of Things (2018) The Establishment (2017) and The Environmentalists (2016), Crowd will tackle issues of everyday society and specifically the mentality of “the crowd”, in a piece devised entirely by the young theatre-makers.

YEP use their own personal experiences and feelings to transport very real issues of today into a fictitious autocracy, powerfully examining the rise of populist and autocratic leaders across the globe.

Horrible Histories Celebrates 25 Years With A Visit To Chester.

In 1993 the first Horrible Histories books were published, and now Horrible Histories Live on Stage is coming to Storyhouse in Chester with a double bill this autumn.

The shows are coming to Storyhouse from Tuesday 5th November to Friday 8th November 2019, when there’s a chance to catch Terrible Tudors and Awful Egyptians in two hilarious shows featuring eye-popping 3D special effects. Tickets are on sale now.

Liverpool’s historic Chinese culture will be celebrated and showcased through a range of events organised by Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse. Chinese New Year Spring Festival joins the sold-out production Shore to Shore (19th and 20th March), as part of a wider project by the theatres to engage with Chinese communities in the region.

Confucius Institute’s Chinese New Year Spring Festival takes place from 8th-10th February, in association with Everyman & Playhouse, to celebrate Chinese New Year 2019 – the year of the Pig.

Smash Hit Show Announces Chester Storyhouse Dates For September.

Smash hit stage show Saturday Night Fever is coming to Storyhouse in Chester this coming autumn as part of its new U.K. tour.

To mark 40 years since the film’s U.K. release, a reimagined and revitalised new music and dance spectacular from Bill Kenwright opened at London’s New Wimbledon Theatre in summer 2018. It has since been wowing audiences nationwide with its iconic soundtrack and moves.

Saturday Night Fever comes to Storyhouse from Tuesday 10th September to Saturday 14th September 2019 for eight performances only, which includes three matinees. Tickets are on sale now.

Journalist, Writer And Documentary Film Maker, Jon Ronson, Brings His New Show To The Philharmonic Hall As Part Of U.K. Tour.

Critically acclaimed, award-winning, best-selling writer, journalist and documentary filmmaker Jon Ronson returns to the U.K. in May with his new show Tales from The Last Days of August and The Butterfly Effect.  The tour commences at the Corn Exchange, Cambridge on the 6th May, and culminates at the Edinburgh Assembly Rooms on the 27th May, a show at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall on Saturday 18th May is one not to miss.
