Roger Waters: The Dark Side Of The Moon – Redux. Album Review.

Liverpool Sound and Vision Rating 8.5/10

If the internet is to be believed, there is a division of attitude and opinion circulating what people and fans perceive to be a challenge to art history, specifically that in which is revered as a magical experience that equates to the human condition at its most vulnerable; and that separation is arguably unwarranted.

Steven Wilson: The Harmony Codex. Album Review.

Harmony is to be prized, to be in sync with oneself is to feel the universe at your fingertips guiding you to create the seemingly impossible with everything that makes you unique, a star, a coded piece of human machinery in which the world awaits your latest discovery.

Long is the suffering that abuse leaves on the soul, and its consequence on society is such that the world is embedded in chaos and anger at all times; like a match to the touch paper, it can ignite at any time and rain down destruction on all sides of the thin blue line as they battle, like a dual personality sufferer, for supremacy and peace.

Everything can be an allegory if you look deep enough for it.

It seems obvious to state that as we look for meaning in between the lines of every part of human life, experience, and words maybe bandied around in jest, but the symbolic metaphor can be found residing, breathing, thriving, in all pieces of art, but when you see it unfold in a way that leaves you breathless, that requires such a barren landscape of vocalised expression to engage the viewer with an abundant brilliance…then you know how deeply the writer has given to metaphor.

Thanks to the internet we can allow ourselves to feel our mouth drop in astonishment as we watch footage of humans find ways to embarrass themselves when in the habitat and space of the natural world. People who wonder why they cannot just suddenly break years of sensible thought by cuddling a wild animal and then being pecked at, limbs possibly broken, or even mauled to death because they suddenly believe that they will not be harmed in the process.

Bergman: Embers. Album Review.

Liverpool Sound and Vision Rating 9/10

We look to the ashes of a controlled fire in the warmth of a home and feel the cold memories of a dark morning fill our minds, regret of having let the fire go out, of our struggle to reignite the day ahead…where Embers lay though, we should find the will to harness the energy and be buoyed and enthused about seeing the flames of decision and the heat of life cause the wood to burn and our skin to become warm to the touch from those that love and care for us.

Erja Lyytinen: Diamonds On The Road -Live 2023. Live Album Review.

Liverpool Sound and Vision Rating * * * * *

Live albums are defined by their nature to aim arrows of desire straight at the heart of the discerning and fanciful listener, they are created not only to showcase the brilliance of the artist in the setting of their choice, but to install the craving to witness the machine and the soul working in harmony for themselves; it is a symbol of union that has been proactively astute for decades and does wonders for the morale of both the musician and for the loving inquisitive public.

The Mandalorian and Andor proved it, and Dave Filoni’s Ahsoka has doubled down with force on the insistence, but Star Wars as an entity no longer requires the presence of Luke Skywalker, General Leia Organa, or even Han Solo in starring roles to carry the much loved and admired franchise forward.
