Memories To Be Made As CATS Makes Its Way To The Empire Theatre.

One of the longest-running shows in West End and Broadway history, CATS will come to the Liverpool Empire Theatre from 26th November to 7th December.

Based on T.S Eliot’s Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s record- breaking adaptation CATS is directed by Trevor Nunn, with choreography by Gillian Lynne and set and costume design by John Napier. Re-creating the direction and choreography for the tour is Chrissie Cartwright. Including one of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s most memorable musical scores, spectacular set design, extraordinary costumes and stunning choreography, CATS is a uniquely magical musical.

The Upbeat Beatles To Perform In Southport This October.

Half a century after The Beatles’ first hit record, the U.K.’s premier Beatles band are rolling out their Fab Four homage across the U.K.

Marking five decades since the release of Please Please Me, The Upbeat Beatles will take you on a magical history tour of The Beatles through their songs and their humour. Playing live music from the iconic band’s ten year canon, The Upbeat Beatles aim to have you dancing in the aisles and screaming like it is 1963. The Upbeat Beatles will be performing at the Southport Theatre on October 17th.

Gary Barlow To Release New Album And Perform At The Liverpool Echo Arena.

Following the announcement of the details of his first studio album in 14 years Since I Saw You Last, Gary Barlow confirmed that he will be embarking on a full solo tour in April 2014.

Gary’s new album Since I Saw you Last will be released through Polydor Records on November 25th with the first single Let Me Go being released the week before on November 17th.

Big Name Line-Up For Homotopia’s 10th Birthday Bash

Gary Everett, Artistic Director, has programmed a blend of international premieres, original commissions, emerging artists and established stars to celebrate 10 years of presenting the best of queer culture. He explains, “In 2004 we set out to unite communities around high quality cultural experiences with a handful of events in small-scale venues. The festival has grown with our ambition and our audiences and Liverpool has embraced the lesbian, gay and transgender experience; so much so that you will find Homotopia at the Philharmonic Hall, the Walker Art Gallery and the Museum of Liverpool this year.

The English National Ballet Sets The Christmas Scene With The Nutcracker.

English National Ballet brings its acclaimed production of The Nutcracker to Liverpool in November and back to the London Coliseum for its annual Christmas season. The Liverpool performances will be between Wednesday 20th November and Saturday 23rd November at The Empire Theatre.

Journey back in time with the English National Ballet to a frost-covered, gas-lit London and join Clara, her nutcracker doll and the magician Drosselmeyer in this traditional, festive tale for all the family.

There are moments in theatre where the ugly head of jealousy might just rear up within an audience member and show the person what they could have achieved if they were so minded. The chance to write, direct or even perform in a production of Crime And Punishment that is so magnificent, so constant in its relentless look at the way poverty, crime and descending psychosis, that even to have pulled the curtain up at the start of the play would have been an enormous thrill.

When it comes to Genesis, the rich tapestry of the band which started out from Charterhouse Public School and ended up as one of the biggest Progressive Rock groups ever, doesn’t neatly divide fans one way or the other in terms of musical values in certain eras, it manages to do it during the course of an album as well.

There are some works that are too good to keep hidden from those that would demean and diminish them. Some works may need to be spirited away in case certain people take offence and see the satire as a personal attack. However those in the very highest of offices do sometimes need reminding that they are they to serve the people, not the other way round. No matter how long it takes to get a novel published or someone to take it on as, what can only be described as riveting, in a theatre setting, at some point the message will get through, such is the fate of Mikhail Bulgakov’s work, The Master and Margarita.
