Geoff Carne & The Raw Rox Band: Rise Again. E.P. Review.

Liverpool Sound and Vision Rating 8.5/10

Never allow yourself to stay down for too long, for the view is arguably addictive and the memories that accompany it are full of warmth and dangerously comforting.

Rise Again, step into the zone you are only vaguely familiar with, rise once more and find the place where industry meets imagination, and allow the feelings of passion for the new run its course and where it leads to discovery.

We will look upon the start of the third decade of the 21st Century with its own sense of anguish, the issue that the opportunity was lost to build society in a  way that truly captured the art possible within, and yet for some, they chose to not only rise, but fly, to spread their charming wings and soar above the cacophony of doom and chose to shake the tree from which they built their home and their vantage point.

The leveller that should have been for all, at least has been grasped and handled with care by others, and for Geoff Carne & The Raw Rox Band, the sense of achievement is not only palpable, but also brimming with industry and flirtation, of openly producing beauty in a time of chaos.

Two full albums and an abundance of songs via the medium of the E.P., that is the openness of the imagination and theatre produced from the songs that inhabit the world of the latest release, Rise Again.

To hear the music of a band whose whole being in placed into the faith provided by the high expectation of the listener, has always been a pleasure, and through the tracks It’s The Not Knowing, Love The Blues, Lipstick Traces, the alternative arrangements and solos on If There’s A Heaven and Love The Blues, and the title track of Rise Again, Geoff Carne and the band take the route that is known but not often travelled, and it leads to a place of exquisite cool and passion.

Music is reinvention when created with the intention of striking out from a place of the comfortable continuation, a place to Rise Again with pride; a place in which Geoff Carne & The Raw Rox Band are always happy to seek the new adventure that awaits.

Geoff Carne & The Raw Rox Band release Rise Again on June 16th.
