Dynasty: Final Advent. Album Review.

Liverpool Sound and Vision Rating * * * *

We all make that final journey, be it a spiritual encounter when the breath is short, or the reckoning we have with our past, a final moment in the shade of our decisions, at dusk’s closing eye, we make the last moment count.

However, we don’t give much though to the start of that journey, the introduction of why the Final Advent was undertaken or the ignition of the dream that dawn provides to meet its obligation, to stir up inspiration to take to dusk’s welcoming arms. That spark of inspiration that sees the day take shape, that witnesses the journey to its natural conclusion, that is the one we wish to see take shape when we peek behind the door of the advent calendar, no matter the season, no matter the celebration or the event, we want to observe the beginning, as well as the end.

There have been arguably too many ends of late, but those beginnings, we need more, collectively we must assert our will to make others believe they have something inside of them that will make their lives phenomenal, will let their name live on, and create a dynasty of thought that will improve their own time on earth, and that of those who will be stimulated and encouraged by them.

So, it is to Swedish melodic metal band Dynasty that the Final Advent is secured and unveiled with a flourish, and in their latest album, the product of intelligent cohesive control and intrigue into how the human psyche works when it is overloaded with dreams and visions, the songs and stories that grow, take shape, form a narrative of expression that forces by design others to reach for the same valuable gift of sunlight; is simply a groove of metal that is ready to be gratefully received as it explodes with sincerity and drive.

It is with will, determination and questions that sees Nils Molin, Love Magnusson, Mikael Lavér, Jonathan Olsson, and Georg Hämsten Egg, take tracks such as Natural Born Killer, All The Devils Are Here, Heart Of Darkness, and Achilles Heel and turn them into motivations, tales of the unexpected and dramatic poise, a Swedish sense of musical royalty made clear.

Never mind the ending, it will come soon enough; but we should pay more attention to the start, to be moved by the initial twitching of life made glorious; and there you will find a Dynasty worth its weight in gold.
