Family Fun As Dragons, Frogs, Lizards And Dogs Take Over The Playhouse This spring!

A flurry of creatures will descend on Liverpool this spring as family productions for a range of ages – including lively tales for little ones and teen novels turned into exciting stage adaptations – take centre stage at the Playhouse.

Kicking off a series of family shows, Oi Frog and Friendsvisits the Playhouse from 26th-29th February. Adapted from Kes Gray and Jim Field’s best-selling pictures books, audiences will join frog, dog, cat and a host of other friends for a live adventure packed full of songs, puppetry and fun.

For older children and teenagers, a stage adaptation of Louis Sachar’s multi-award-winning novel Holes visits the Playhouse from 24th-28th March. Made into a film featuring Shia LaBeouf and Sigourney Weaver, this stage adaptation is an inventive, offbeat comedy adventure following Stanley Yelnats – sent to a labour camp for a crime he didn’t commit. Suitable for ages eight and above, the production is the perfect show for the whole family to enjoy.

Renowned children’s writer Julia Donaldson’s roar-some Zogwill visit the Playhouse from 8th-11th April to complete the family fun at the Playhouse. Large in size and keen in nature, join Zog as he eagerly tries to impress at Madam Dragon’s school. Featuring music by Joe Stilgoe, Zog is a magical production by the team behind Tabby McTat, which visited the Everyman in autumn 2019.

Tickets for all three productions are on sale now. Family tickets are available for all shows, including Saturdays, providing discount for families wanting to enjoy a day out at the theatre.
