Be Spellbound By A Series Of Jazz On Friday Nights At Liverpool’s Capstone Theatre.

Jazz this Autumn at Liverpool Hope’s Capstone Theatre includes a series of Friday evening concerts by a truly international selection of artists.  On Friday 18th October pianist/composer John Law brings his Recreations band to the venue in a concert featuring Parliamentary Jazz Award winner Sam Crockatt on saxophones. Recreations is an acoustic quartet that focuses on creating innovative new jazz standards from the music of pop and indie artists such as Radiohead, Daft Punk and The Beatles.

On Friday 8th November a French duo consisting of pianist Jean-Marie Machado and accordionist Didier Ithursarry present a concert of original music for piano and accordion.

Friday 15th November sees Luxembourgish piano trio Reis-Demuth-Wiltgen, effectively American saxophonist Joshua Redman’s band, present a set of original compositions by classical music and pop and on Friday 22nd November Norwegian sax ace Marius Neset brings his quintet to the theatre to present music from his latest album Circle of Chimes.

Alongside the Friday evening Jazz nights, there is a special evening on Thursday 14th November as vocalist Natacha Atlas presents a concert that brings together western and Middle Eastern vocal traditions with jazz performing music from her newest album Strange Days.
