Royal Court Youth Theatre present – The Dream Team, Search For The Sandman This August.

The Royal Court Liverpool Youth Theatre is back in the main auditorium this August with a new show that the young team have devised and created with support from writer Maurice Bessman.

The Dream Team will be the Youth Theatre’s fourth annual show on the main stage having had great success with Badfellas (2015 and 2014) and Starcrossed Lovers (2013) in recent years.

The show will be a comedy with music and dance showcasing the talents of the next generation of Liverpool actors. Tickets are just £3 with all proceeds being reinvested in the Youth Theatre by the Royal Court Liverpool Trust.

The show was based around the ideas that came from members of the Youth Theatre which were then workshopped with a team of professional arts practitioners. As well as performing all of the roles in the show, members of the Youth Theatre are involved in every aspect of the production, including design, costume, backstage, marketing and stage management.

The Sandman is missing and children aren’t going to sleep. Nothing is helping. Lullabies fall on deaf ears, teddies fall to the ground un-hugged and bed time stories? Well there’s something very wrong with night time tales.

But don’t worry. Mr. Morpheus from the Chillait Corporation is here with his new, soothing night time milk! It will calm your kids and help them to drift off into the night. That’s got to be a good thing, right? A group of adventurers known only as The Dream Team are called together to travel the globe in search of The Sandman. If they can complete their quest, bed times will return to normal. But if they don’t, Mr. Morpheus will take control forever.

The Royal Court Liverpool Youth Theatre is free to join and attend and aims to introduce enthusiastic young people to all aspects of theatre. The show is suitable for all ages and all are welcome to attend.

The Dream Team – Search For The Sandman will be at Liverpool’s Royal Court on Wednesday 24th and Thursday 25th August 2016. Tickets and information are available from www.royalcourtliverpool.com or on 0151 709 4321.
