Liverpool Legend Beryl Marsden To Make Panto Debut Alongside Calum Best At The Epstein Theatre.

LHK Productions are delighted to announce another star name to join the cast of Cinderella, the spellbinding Christmas panto coming to Liverpool’s Epstein Theatre this festive season.

One of the greatest female vocalists of the Merseybeat era, Beryl Marsden will make her panto debut as the Fairy Godmother joining previously announced heartthrob, Calum Best who headlines this year’s cast as Prince Charming. The all-star production runs from 10th December 2015 – 3rd January 2016.

Beryl has had an illustrious and prolific career spanning six decades, starting at the age of 15 when she joined a local band The Undertakers.

She has since gone on to tour with The Beatles, performed with Rod Stewart in the group The Shotgun Express as well as seen success on her own merit as a solo artist and song writer, with hits including Who You Gonna Hurt?, Music Talk, Baby It’s You and Too Late.

In 2014 Beryl’s life was celebrated on stage in a brand new musical One Dream: The Beryl Marsden Story which transferred to the Epstein Theatre following its sell-out pilot performances at the world famous Cavern Club. The performances marked the 50th anniversary of the release of Beryl’s live recording of Everybody Loves a Lover on the L.P. Live at The Cavern.

Beryl was also recently portrayed in the I.T.V.1 biopic Cilla, a three part drama series about Cilla Black starring Sheridan Smith.

On joining the cast, Beryl Marsden said, “I am so excited to be doing my first Panto with Lee Kelly and LHK who I have heard great things about. This is a new chapter for me and I often dreamt about being in Panto and especially as Fairy Godmother. I am also looking forward to meeting co-star Calum as I had the pleasure of meeting to his father in the late sixties who was a very charming man.”

Lee Kelly added, “Beryl is a wonderful addition to this year’s cast. She is a local legend and has had an incredible career starting from such a celebrated time in Liverpool’s history, the Merseybeat era. She is a renowned singer who audiences know and love, and I’m sure she will bring something special to the show.

Returning to the Epstein Theatre for their 4th festive season, LHK’s Cinderella tells the much-loved story of a beautiful young girl kept captive by her wicked ugly step sisters. When Cinders is invited to a magnificent ball at the palace, her two fiendish ugly step-sisters forbid her to attend.

With a wave of a magic wand, her very own fairy godmother appears to save the day and she is transformed in to a dazzling princess. After a magical evening dancing endlessly with Prince Charming, midnight approaches and poor Cinders has to depart before the spell is broken.

With a single glass slipper left behind, will Prince Charming be able to find his princess? Will Cinders escape the clutches of her ugly step-sisters and live happily ever after?

With a live orchestra, real Shetland ponies, lavish sets and exquisite costumes, a full supporting cast will also join Calum Best and Beryl Marsden.

Tickets for the performance are priced at £19 Adults with concessions available at £17 Concession.
