The Epstein Theatre To Host Acclaimed Comedian Simon Amstell In February 2015.

Following an incredible year welcoming national and internationally acclaimed comedy acts through its theatre doors, The Epstein Theatre continue with their first 2015 offering, as British Comedy Award winner Simon Amstell comes to the venue on Thursday 12th and Friday 13th February.

After his last show, Numb, toured to sell-out audiences around the U.K. and Ireland in 2012, as well as Australia and the U.S.A., the funny man is ready to entertain Liverpool audiences as part of his fourth international stand up tour To Be Free.

Born in 1979, Simon made his first television appearance in 1993 as a contestant on the Channel 4 game show Games Master. He started performing on the comedy circuit as a young teenager and was the youngest finalist of the B.B.C. New Comedy Awards in 1998. He later went on to appear on such television shows as Popworld, Never Mind the Buzzcocks and the critically acclaimed B.B.C. 2 sitcom Grandma’s House which was written by Amstell and long term collaborator Dan Swimer.

The comedian has been recognised and acknowledged for his work and has to date won two British Comedy Awards, an R.T.S. Award, a Broadcast Award, and a Chortle Award as well as being nominated for a B.A.F.T.A.

With intense vulnerability and troubling honesty, Amstell’s shows deliver a witty commentary of society exploring everything from death, regret and suffering to freedom, joy and love.

The brutally honest comedian is thoughtful in his delivery and guides audiences through a self-healing show where everyone can laugh at the awkward situations of life with him, in admiration of his brave vulnerability on stage.

There has already been an overwhelming response so early booking is strongly advised to avoid disappointment.
