The Wombats To Tour And Release New Album In 2015.

As The Wombats prepare to launch their third album next Spring – the follow-up to their number three Gold-certified hit This Modern Glitch – the trio have confirmed details of a major U.K. tour that includes a substantial London show at the O2 Brixton Academy as well as a homecoming date at Liverpool’s O2 Academy.

The much loved band will be coming back to Liverpool on April 18th for their penultimate show of the tour. After playing in cities such as Paris, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Rome, Birmingham and Glasgow, to come home will be a huge bonus for the group.

Tickets for the U.K. gigs go on sale from 9am on Friday November 21st, priced at £19 for London and £17 for all regional dates.

This Modern Glitch saw The Wombats build on the initial success of their debut album as it became their highest charting record and also became their biggest international album to date – most notably in Australia where it peaked at  number two as it reached Platinum status.

In addition, This Modern Glitch also launched some of their most popular singles so far such as TechnoFan, Tokyo (Vampires and Wolves)’, Jump Into The Fog (a Top 10 hit on Billboard’s Alternative Songs charts) and Anti-D. They subsequently headlined Lovebox and Wakestock, and were also a highlight of numerous other festivals including Glastonbury, V, Radio 1’s Big Weekend and Rockness, as well as a packed tent at Coachella and an arena tour of Australia.

The first taster of the band’s new album came when the track Your Body Is A Weapon was released as a free download for their ever devoted fanbase. Premiered by Zane Lowe at Radio 1 and later included in his 100 Hottest Records of the Year, the track demonstrated their continuing popularity with over two million plays split between YouTube and Sound Cloud.

In addition to continuing work on their third album, 2014 has also seen The Wombats tour extensively with numerous festival dates in Australia and mainland Europe including Rock Werchter, Hurricane Festival and Field Day.
