Justin Currie, Julia Fordham, Bernard Sumner And Stephen Langstaff Amongst Highlights Of A Packed Season At The Epstein Theatre This Autumn/Winter.

The Epstein Theatre brings a new season of exciting new shows with a diverse range of entertainment for all audiences to Liverpool.

Music fans everywhere will be delighted with the caliber of acts announced, beginning with King Creosote on the 8th October who will be playing music from their new smash hit album From Scotland With Love. Joy Division’s Lead Guitarist Bernard Sumner is at the theatre on the 30th September. In New Order, Joy Division and Me: Bernard Sumner in conversation with Dave Haslam, Bernard will discuss his long awaited autobiography. On the 9th October, Chantel McGregor, the prestigious rock and blues performer comes to wow Liverpool with another phenomenal live performance. Ivor Novello and Brit nominated singer songwriter Nerina Pallot tours to promote her fourth E.P. Free as You Wanna Be which will be performed along with her sensational back catalogue at the Epstein on 30th October.

In November the music continues to flourish with Del Amitri’s founding member, Justin Currie performing his new solo album Lower Reaches on the 7th November. On the 19th Julia Fordham celebrates the 25th Anniversary of her momentous album Porcelain at the Epstein Theatre. Julia will be performing the stunning album for audiences beside her long standing pianist and album producer Grant Mitchell.

Before Panto Season descends, December brings a very special musical performance. The Epstein brings Liverpool’s own Stephen Langstaff to the stage on the 6th December.

As well as music, the Epstein is the go to Liverpool venue for the best of touring comedy and the comedy season kicks off on the 2nd October with the British Comedy Award winning and B.A.F.T.A. nominated duo Cardinal Burns. After selling out in London, Edinburgh and Melbourne they are hitting the road again with their unpredictable character comedy. Hilarious, belly aching comedy comes to The Epstein on the 4th October. Live Nations, MHA and United Agents presents Doc Brown: The Weird Way Round. Ricky Gervais’s new signing is bringing his hip-hop style comedy to live audiences after many television appearances, including The Inbetweeners. Eric and Little Ern is the honorable homage to Britain’s much loved comedy double act Morecambe and Wise. This truly sidesplitting production arrives for two performances only from 10th – 11th October and is created and performed by Ian Ashpitel and Jonty Stephens.
November is bursting with performances that will make you laugh out loud including on the Richard Herring Lord of the Dance Street on the 1st November. The legendary comedian and “The King of Edinburgh” will delight your funny bone using his experience from a career spanning thirty years. And if that is not enough to tickle your sense of humor Ireland’s top comedian Tommy Tiernan appears at The Epstein for three nights only on 20th – 22nd of November. His hilarious storytelling and non-apologetic comedy continuously challenges his audiences. Finally a comedy chat show Tour of The Universe laughs its way in to the Epstein on 23rd October. This light hearted science show, which puts the ‘fun’ in Physics will enrich and inspire audiences with a tour guide of all that Space has to offer.

The Epstein Theatre prides itself in supporting the British tradition of Variety and this season is no exception. Hypnotist: Christopher Caress will amaze audiences the 12th September. He will hypnotize willing volunteers faster than lightening whilst making them laugh until they cry with his comic genius. The Epstein Theatre are proud to welcome Devine Theatre Company’s A Variety Spectacular by the on the 13th September. This production is packed with the very best of Merseyside’s talent, topping the bill is the award winning Schooner. On the 18th October The Martini Lounge presents Burlesque and Variety Show returns to the Epstein filled glamorous costumes, scintillating Burlesque performances and sensational vocal acts. The Martini Lounge is the U.K.’s must see showcase of traditional Burlesque. Epstein Theatre regular LHK productions bring One Night Only to the theatre on the 25th October, displaying the region’s favourite personalities in a brilliant variety performance with plenty of show-stopping acts from the world of musical theatre, comedy, drama and dance. The funniest night of your life is waiting for audiences the 8th November, the most successful show in the Canary Islands is coming to The Epstein. Paul Carroll’s Music Hall Tavern is full of music and laughter and has been seen by a million people around the world, do not miss out.

In between the exceptional Music, Comedy and Variety productions at The Epstein, Drama will take centre stage. September 25th – 27th sees Last Train Auschwitz arriving to take you on an emotional journey through the lives of young German women during the Second World War’s most tragic tale. The show will tap in to your emotions and provide a knowledgeable journey in to history and suffering of the Jewish community.

Shakespeare School Festival is the U.K.’s largest Youth Drama Festival and is welcomed back to the Epstein from the 13th – 17th October. The festival works with over 1000 secondary, primary and special schools all over the country and delight audiences with Shakespeare productions live on stage. A highlight worth mentioning for next year is the new stage adaptation of Twopence to Cross the Mersey. Coming to audiences due to popular demand for three weeks from the 10th – 28th of March 2015! The dramatic straight play version of the hit adaptation of Helen Forrester’s much loved book is based on her best-selling memoir about a young girl and her previously wealthy family who were thrown in to unexpected poverty during the Great Depression of the 1930’s.

Children will love the world famous Italian folk tale of Pinocchio which is welcomed to the Epstein on 25th October. A puppet comes to life by magic by a beautiful fairy. Pinocchio displays many of life’s positives attributes to become a real boy, bravery, kindest and honesty in this beautiful journey on stage. LHK Youth Theatre are thrilled to announce they are to bring their adaption of the Broadway and West End smash hit musical HAIRSPRAY to The Epstein from 14th – 15th November. The show will include all the hits from the number one musical.

Finally, Pantomime season just around the corner, ‘oh yes it is!’ and Christmas festivities getting closer and closer. So are the best shows and the Epstein Theatre’s favourite time of year. LHK Productions climbs to the dizzy heights of Panto greatness to bring Jack & the Beanstalk to the Epstein from 11th December – 4th January for 49 humungous performances. Starring I.T.V.’s ‘The Only Way is Essex’ and ‘Splash’s Dan Osborne as Jack alongside Liverpool’s most glamorous dress designer ‘My Big Fat Gypsy Weddings Thelma Madine. The production also includes Brookside’s Susanne Collins as Mrs Fleshcreep, Grease is the Word’s Alison Crawford as Jill and the voice of Herbert of Liverpool as the Giant.
