After last year’s sell-out production of Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, The Royal T. Drama Academy is back with another dazzling amateur youth performance with a toe-tapping production; Guys and Dolls. Promising to delight audiences across St Helens, the iconic Broadway musical opens on Thursday 7th until Saturday 9thAugust, providing three fantastic nights of comical entertainment suitable for the whole family at St Helens Theatre Royal. This fabulous production will feature all of the Broadway show’s smash hit numbers including Luck Be A Lady, Sit Down You’re Rocking The Boat, If I Were A Bell, and the toe-tapping title song, Guys and Dolls.
Once again, the Theatre Royal’s regular dame Si Foster will direct a talented youth group where they will guarantee a night to sit back, relax and be entertained to the maximum as they transport the audience back to the iconic 1950’s Broadway era where mayhem, laughs a plenty and toe-tapping numbers rule the streets!
A lively and uplifting musical comedy, all the hot gamblers are back in town, and they’re all depending on Nathan Detroit to set up their illegal floating crap game for a bit of gambling action! The only problem is he needs $1000 to hire the right venue. Throw in Sarah Brown and her gallant band from the Save-A-Soul Mission who are endeavouring to recruit sinners; Sky Masterson, who accepts Nathan’s $1000 bet that he can’t get prim and proper Sarah Brown to go with him to Havana; Miss Adelaide, Nathan’s long-suffering fiancée of 14 years, who just wants to get Nathan to the altar; Police Lieutenant Brannigan, who always seems to appear at the wrong time; and finally add in the music and lyrics of Frank Loesser which brings together a toe-tapping musical.
