St Helens Theatre Royal Turns Up The Heat In June.

After a music filled month of May, St Helens Theatre Royal are aiming for a red hot start to summer with their varied programme of events. The month kicks off with a hypnotic evening with The Tranceformer followed by a Night of Queen courtesy of The Bohemians. Debra Stephenson and Steven Pinder star in the hilarious and hottest production of the year, The Last of the Red Hot Lovers and on the summer solstice, spirit medium Derek Acorah returns to the Theatre Royal with his new 2014 show.

Allan Shea AKA The Tranceformer will bring his unique brand of outrageous comedy hypnosis to the Theatre Royal on Saturday 7th June. The evening of laughs, hypnosis and transformation will have the audience in awe of his lightning fast abilities and jaw dropping performance. Shea encourages audience participation, letting go and having fun, and in turn, audience members leave their old selves behind. Gone are the days of progressive muscle relaxation inductions, now Allan’s amazing speed and hypnotic ability will make audiences TRANCEFORM into the real stars of the show.

On Sunday 8th June, audiences can re-enact the glory days of Queen with The Bohemians. The U.K.’s most dynamic and electrifying Queen Tribute band are currently touring the country and are sure to Rock You with this evening of Queen’s best hits. Lead vocalist, Rob Comber’s stage antics echo back to the incredible stage presence of Freddie Mercury, making him the perfect front man for this excellent tribute band along with other band members Christopher Gregory, Wayne Bourne and Kevin Goodwin. Travel back to the craziness of the 70s and the Magic of the 80s as the band recreate an incredible Queen concert with this high energy show. After just completing a hugely successful European tour, join us for this high energy concert celebrating the best of Queen.

Neil Simon’s hilarious award winning comedy The Last of the Red Hot Lovers, comes to the Theatre Royal for a four day run from Wednesday 11th – Saturday 14th June. Directed by Sylvie Gatril and still sizzling from the success of Bouncers: the Remix, this ambitious production follows the extra marital adventures of Luckless Barney Cashman as he joins the sexual revolution. Regal Entertainments have added a unique twist to the play, this now two-hand, will include performances from the extremely talented and versatile Steven Pinder as Barney and Debra Stephenson in not one but three roles. This story of self-discovery will have audiences in stitches with its brilliant comedic characters and side-splitting script. The Last of the Red Hot Lovers is Theatre Royal’s must see show, and is sure to guarantee a saucy but hilarious start to your summer.

And finally, ending June’s excellent programme of entertainment is Merseyside’s own Derek Acorah as he returns to the Theatre Royal on Saturday 21st June with his new Enlightenment Tour for 2014. As one of the most renowned spiritual mediums in the UK, it’s no surprise that The Guardian described him as ‘the model of the modern medium’. Derek’s friendly and sincere approach has won himself fans all over the country, and for many years Derek has brought comfort and support to thousands of people.
