Alex Hulme To Perform At This Year’s Threshold Festival.

One of the many reasons to attend this year’s Threshold Festival in Liverpool surely has to watching Folk-Pop singer Alex Hulme.

Gaining plaudits in the form of Sir Paul McCartney and Billy Ocean and critical acclaim from the B.B.C., Alex Hulme performs as if his life depends on it. His striking lyrics marry superbly alongside his velveteen rich vocals.

Having already released his much longed for fourth E.P. Climb (produced by Richard Woodcraft), this year and following on from supporting such artists as Willy Mason, Willis Earl Beal, Emmy the Great and The Proclaimers, Threshold will see him make a marked return to Liverpool on Saturday 29th March. His guitar work is likened to the legendary Lindsey Buckingham and has attracted a huge fan base. At Kendal Calling 2013, he performed a knockabout set to a packed audience despite being on competing time slots with The Lightning Seeds and Mystery Jets.

From its foot stomping intro through its clever lyrics and rousing chorus, Climb is Hulme at his best.  With melody flavours of Fleetwood Mac, and guitar bashing like Richard Thompson, you’d be forgiven for thinking this was Ed Sheeran on a bluesy workout.

Blending aggressive, energetic live performances with well crafted, edgy song-writing and a masterful use of the Loopstation, Alex is already booked for a number of festivals in 2014.

Threshold 2014 is a fantastic opportunity in which to catch Alex Hulme in Liverpool.
