The Tryals of Anne Bonny To Come To The Unity Theatre.

On February 21st and Saturday 22nd The Tryals of Anne Bonny will be unleashed on audiences at Unity Theatre.

This one-women show supported by aerial theatre tells the true story of Anne Bonny, who in 1720 (along with Mary Read) was sentenced to death by hanging for piracy. Fed by a frenzy of gossip and rumour the trial was one of the most sensational in maritime history.

To date (almost 300 years later) Anne Bonny is till the subject of much speculation and rumour, for many her names conjures up the idealised romantic image of the pirate.

The Tryals of Anne Bonny will go some way to shatter this “romantic image” and bring to life a brutal piece of history in a bold and uncompromising style.
