One of the finest bands to come out of Scotland have dusted down their back catalogue and have hit the road in earnest, with what seems a mission to remind the British public, that there is more to the current bands who dominate people’s thoughts and also, once in a while look back to the bands of the past and listen to their music, which should always be heard.

The band opened the night with Telegram from the 1976 studio album Close Enough For Rock and Roll and immediately had the sold out audience falling in love with them all over again.

Vocalist Dan McCafferty paced himself excellently as he, guitarist Jimmy Murrison, bass guitar player Pete Agnew and drummer Lee Agnew stormed their way through tracks such as Miss Misery, Bad Bad Boy and the sensational crowd pleaser from the 2008 studio album The Newz.

It has to be said that Dan McCafferty voice has, if anything, got better and better as the years have passed and it was highlighted wonderfully during the rendition of one of the best known songs, The wonderful Love Hurts.

Certainly the crowd at the Robin were justifiably impressed with the performance and made it known at every opportunity.

The Scottish rockers finished off a stunning night of high octane music with some fantastic encores which included the superb Razamanaz and This Flight Tonight.

A very welcome return to the spotlight for the band and a rare treat for music lovers.
