You don’t get a better recommendation to watch a band than a small introductory film by one of the most respected men in rock and one of the founding members of Fleetwood Mac, Mick Fleetwood. The drummer extolled the virtues and friendship of one of the finest tributes bands around and as his introduction was played out, the audience grew more excited as they sensed the impending night ahead.

Rumours of Fleetwood Mac opened an exquisite night of superb musicianship with Rhiannon. From the moment the first note was played, the audience was treated to a night of pure, unadulterated brilliance that never once dropped below nothing short of stunning.

There are some critics that claim tribute acts and cover bands damage the integrity of the original recordings and insult the band’s name. Surely though if the people on stage are as talented as the guys of Rumours… are, then it can only be a good thing to keep the much loved and adored music going in whatever shape and form it may take.

Louise Rogan was a sheer delight as she took on the mantle of Stevie Nicks with both hands and squeezed tenderly and lovingly the life out of the performance that the first lady of rock gave all those years ago. Alongside Louise was the impressive Amanda Kostadinov who performed as the gentle Christine McVie, her rolling vocal style won many plaudits on a night of high style and incredible reliability to the tunes being played.

The band strolled through two sets with great aplomb as they performed classic songs from every incarnation of the band including the Peter Green years including The Green Manalishi , the stunning instrumental hit Albatross and one of the sweetest and incredibly sad songs ever recorded Man of the World.

There was a song for everyone, not just for the old blues jug band fans as both Amanda and Louise rejoined the male members of the troupe for classic songs such as Landslide, The outstanding Chain and a truly storming and mind blowing version of Tusk.

The band finished a night in faithful fashion with Amanda Kostadinov performing Songbird from the Rumours album in fine and exact form.
