Stealing Sheep, Not Real. Album Review.

Liverpool Sound and Vision Rating * * *

They are one of the most uniquely sounding bands to come out of the twin musical areas of Liverpool and Birmingham for some time but even then it doesn’t guarantee that a new album will have anything the intensity or the overflowing amount of passion that their debut or any of their abundant gigs have had.

Liverpool Sound and Vision Rating * * * *

They are one of the great young bands and artists that call Liverpool their home. Alongside many others that in the last few years have made the city’s music addicts sit up and take notice of the new and tremendously exciting breed coming through, such as All We Are, Stealing Sheep, Path Unknown, Joe Symes and The Loving Kind, Only Child, Mono L.P.s, Matt Breen, Buckle Tongue, Rob Vincent and Carrianne Hayden, The Hummingbirds name has travelled far and wide, beyond the metaphorical city walls and out into the open world. People outside the city have once more discovered what makes Liverpool tick like no other in the U.K. and perhaps in the world.

Liverpool Sound And Vision: The Saturday Supplement, An Interview With Carrianne Hayden.

Carrianne Hayden is one of the many musicians/actors that have made Liverpool their home after finishing at L.I.P.A. She has contributed to the ever burgeoning and diverse music scene in Liverpool and has a distinctive voice that has the ability to send appreciative shivers up and down the spine as each note she plays grabs the listener in ways they never thought of.

Hailing from the Worcestershire town of Bewdley, Carrianne spent time abroad recently in which to stock of what she had achieved and where she was going musically. Now back in Liverpool it seems there is no stopping this talented and friendly musician. I was able to catch up with her at the University of Liverpool radio station as she prepared to perform a number of songs including the incredible Run Rabbit Run.

Stealing Sheep, Into The Diamond Sun. Album Review.

Anybody that has managed to catch the incredible Stealing Sheep in the last couple of years, be it supporting Emmy the Great on tour or even their own shows will already know how dreamlike and sensational they are.

For others who have yet to experience the tremendous vocal arrangement, backed up by some of the most unusual but spine tingling music conceived since the early days of Pink Floyd, then Into the Diamond Sun by the three women who make up Stealing Sheep is not just essential listening, it’s an album of ethereal beauty, a glimpse of what is achievable outside the safety bubble of corporation pop and mass produced noise.

L.S. Media Rating ****

Stealing Sheep have had an impressive rise the last twelve months, not content with giving a show stealing performance supporting Emmy the Great at the Stanley Theatre at the University of Liverpool; they were also nominated in this year’s inaugural GIT Awards hosted at Leaf on Bold Street in the last week.  Now at St. Brides Church, as part of an eclectic night of music hosted by All We Are, they blew the audience away to the point where the crowd simply sat and appreciated their dynamic music and with big smiles on their faces.
