X Men: Dark Phoenix. Film Review.

A final offering, one that should have the audience gripped, almost putty like in the hands of the producers, the directors and actors alike, after all an audience will have been waiting for this moment for a period of years, their hopes always on the verge of bursting – then the realisation sets in, the climax that you want is not what the franchise could have been, in that moment the highs and excitement that you once felt, the love and care that you showed, is gone, has departed quicker than an express train hurtling through your local station as you casually ignore the warning about standing close to the yellow line.

There will be those that dare suggest that Feminism has no place in the 21st Century, that to them, disturbingly on the increase in the younger more affluent ends of female society, the word is dead, that it is meaningless to them; however without a construct and movement in place such as Feminism, it would be unlikely that a film of such intrigue and collective brilliance such as Miss Sloane would have ever been made.

Winter is always coming; it just depends on how far you are willing to go in which to protect yourself against the savagery of war that plunges mortal beings into the ways of the warrior. Frost calls and the Huntsmen go in search of more lands to steal; it might not sound like a fairy tale but The Huntsman: Winter’s War is no story in which to consult The Brother’s Grimm over, this is a made up sequel of its own creation.

The Victorian society, one so noble, one so pretentious and self serving, had no qualms about the dealing with those they saw as lingering within the realms of madness, those they thought were drawn too deeply to the shadowed recesses of the mind as to actually give them many euphemisms and one that has persisted through time is the mad woman in the attic, the woman who is locked away from even her own family for the fear of the dark web that she surrounds herself with.

If you want epic adventure you really only have call upon Ridley Scott and he will deliver you a story of such rich ambition and heroism, such is the outer core of the autumn blockbuster The Martian.
