Astral Coast Festival Returns To The New Brighton Floral Pavilions on July 19th
In its brief history, Astral Coast has quickly established itself as one of the premiere new music festivals on Merseyside. Bringing together the region’s most exciting emerging artists with established Merseyside headliners, Astral Coast offers a unique day of live music in the Wirral’s foremost live music venue, New Brighton’s Floral Pavilion. This year should prove to be no exception as the Floral Pavilion welcomes all on the 19th July.
In the previous two years their headline acts have included Domino records and Deltasonic recording artists. As well as M.O.B.O. award winners and N.M.E. favourites. They have also showcased some of Merseyside’s most exciting up and coming acts some of whom have gone on to be critically lauded by both local and national press.
Matthew Bourne’s And New Adventures Edward Scissorhands To Come To The Empire Theatre.
New Adventures, Martin McCallum and Marc Platt are delighted to announce that Edward Scissorhands, devised, directed and choreographed by Matthew Bourne will play at the Liverpool Empire from Tuesday 27th January 2015 to Saturday 31st January 2015 as part of a U.K. tour.
New Adventures magical production of Edward Scissorhands has carved a place in the hearts of thousands across the world since its premiere in 2005. After sell out performances in Europe, America and Australia this spectacular modern fairy tale returns to the U.K. in its first major revival.
The Magic Numbers To Perform In Liverpool As Part Of Their Autum U.K. Tour.
After a successful jaunt to SXSW and the premiering of their new song Roy Orbison by Steve Lamacq on 6 music last week, The Magic Numbers have announced a 12-date autumn tour of the U.K.
The band are armed with a new album that will be released on Caroline/Universal this summer as they kick off their tour in Glasgow on Wednesday 10th September before coming to Liverpool’s East Village Arts Club on September 11th and playing elsewhere through the country.
Special Measures This April At The Royal Court Theatre.
This April the Royal Court Theatre, Liverpool will be producing a brand new comedy from the writer of Eric’s, Taboo and The Liverpool Nativity – Mark Davies Markham.
Special Measures is set in an ordinary Primary School in Netherton which has just suffered an Ofsted inspection. The inspectors deemed them a failing school and have put them into Special Measures.
A showboating Tory M.P. arrives for a photo opportunity at the school and starts picking holes in the staff. It all becomes too much and it’s time for the hardworking teachers to strike back!
Sony Award Winner Gary Delaney To Perform At The Unity Theatre.
On Tuesday 15th April, Gary Delaney, panellist on B.B.C.’s Mock The Week and Radio 5’s 7 Day Saturday, comes to the Unity Theatre to tickle the fancy of all who make their way to Hope Place.
Following his 2013 critically acclaimed sell out Edinburgh show, Gary Delaney is back on the road. Gary thinks that most shows don’t contain enough jokes and is trying singlehandedly to redress the balance.
Expect: Jokes.
Don’t Expect: Narrative, themes or a voyage of self-discovery.
Gary is a razor sharp one-liner comedian, widely regarded as being the most quotable comics around.
The Epstein Theatre To Show Classic Film The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Hoof! Returns After A Three Year Break To The Unity Theatre This April.
After a three year break, and due to massive popular demand Spike Theatre return with their popular improvisational show Hoof! at the Unity Theatre on the 4th and 5th April 2014.
The show, which B.B.C. Radio calls “Refreshingly different, side-achingly funny, just pure comic genius.”, sees A bare stage transforms into a visual, verbal and musical feast as five physical performers and a musician catapult the audience into a totally improvised world.
Hoof! Is not a production of improvisation games but two entire plays improvised quite literally on the Hoof! Based on a unique form of spontaneous theatre previously only performed in the U.S.A. Spike Theatre are pleased to be back at The Unity having taken a few years to recharge their improvisation batteries.
Tmesis Theatre And Physical Fest Reach 10th Anniversary In Style.
Liverpool’s Tmesis Theatre and Physical Fest are back for 2014, and this year Physical Fest – the only festival of its kind in Europe, celebrates its tenth consecutive annual outing since its launch back in 2005. This year’s festival runs between Friday 23rd and Saturday 31st May 2014, and for those who cannot wait that long there is a special festival warm up weekend for young people on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th May.
Kathryn Williams To Unveil Crown Electric Album At Leaf.
Fans of Elvis and/or American industry may already know that Crown Electric is the name of the power company that employed the young Presley as a delivery truck driver until he got the call to record his first session at Sun Studios. Sixty years later, it’s also the title of the tenth album from Liverpool-born, Newcastle-based singer-songwriter Kathryn Williams and fans of Ms.Williams will be able to see her perform at Leaf on March 19th.
