The Unity Theatre Hosts A New Production Of The Princess And The Pea This Christmas.

This Christmas, Unity Theatre is set to enchant audiences of all ages with a spellbinding new production of the much loved fairy-tale – The Princess and the Pea.

Devised by the company and written by the award winning playwright Kevin Dyer this must see Christmas treat will at the Unity Theatre Liverpool from Friday 4th Dec – Saturday 9th Jan.

There was a tall bed and a girl came to stay.

Panti Bliss Brings Hilarious Hit Comedy Show To The Epstein Theatre.

On Saturday, 21st November, Homotopia (Liverpool’s annual LGBT festival) invites audiences to join Ireland’s high queen, national treasure, performance giant and accidental activist, Panti Bliss in her smash hit comedy show, High Heels in Low Places at the Epstein Theatre.

Panti landed herself in the middle of a media storm christened ‘Pantigate’ that rocked Ireland in 2014. Soon after, she became a Youtube sensation when a speech she made about homophobia, described as “the most eloquent Irish speech” in 200 years by Irish Times columnist Fintan O’Toole, went viral, was broadcast around the world, debated in parliament and even remixed by the Pet Shop Boys – sparking a powerful conversation about equality.

Edinburgh Hit Transfers To Liverpool’s Royal Court.

Following a successful run at Edinburgh’s Fringe Festival for the second year running, Liverpool born production Shout! The Mod Musical is transferring to Liverpool’s iconic Royal Court Theatre in May 2016. Recent L.I.P.A. graduate, Max Emmerson is bringing his 5 star 60s musical to the Liverpool venue for a two and a half week run opening on May 20th 2016.

Busted Return After A Decade Away With A Night At The Liverpool Echo Arena.

Matt, James and Charlie are returning to the road with a full U.K. arena tour, including a night at the Echo Arena on Sunday 22nd May, and they are working on brand new Busted music for the first time since 2004.

Northern Broadsides Bring The Winter’s Tale To Liverpool This November.

Northern Broadsides will return to Liverpool this November with The Winter’s Tale, one of Shakespeare’s most inventive and enigmatic plays, with elements of tragedy, comedy, romance and psychological drama, of reconciliation, love and forgiveness. The show will be at the Playhouse from 17th to 21st November.

Northern Broadsides are renowned for their refreshing, unpretentious approach to classic drama, making virtues of clarity and simplicity. The large ensemble cast of multi-talented actor-musicians perform in their own charismatic northern voices, allowing the audience to hear the words afresh. They last visited Liverpool in May, when they performed King Lear at the Playhouse.

Yorgos Karamalegos Invites Audiences To Home This November At The Unity Theatre.

Home, a new multi-disciplinary production from Physical Lab’s Yorgos Karamalegos, will be premiered in Liverpool this autumn.

The drama will be staged at the city’s independent Unity Theatre on Tuesday and Wednesday, 24th and 25th November.

Home is an original devised multi-disciplinary performance inspired by Euripides’ Medea, which will immerse the audience in a world of powerful emotions and senses. Euripides offers a timeless study on political and social issues, as well as deep contemporary insight into the human psychic.

Terence Rattigan’s Flare Path To Come To The Playhouse Theatre This November.

The company that staged a popular adaptation of World War I-set Birdsong earlier this year is returning to the Playhouse with a new production of another wartime drama, Terence Rattigan’s Flare Path, from Tuesday 10th to Saturday 14th November.

Based on Rattigan’s experiences as a tail gunner during World War II, Flare Path paints an evocative portrait of life in wartime Britain for the life-and-death existence of the R.A.F. bomber crews, and the wives and sweethearts who were left awaiting their return.

Met Baritone And Rising Opera Star Heads To Liverpool’s St. George’s Hall.

Following the huge success and standing ovation of the recent Ekaterina Lekhina the debut concert of Liverpool Opera Four Seasons, a member of the new opera star generation, Yunpeng Wang gives a concert at St George’s Hall on Sunday 24th January 2016.

The extraordinary, Chinese born baritone began the 2014-2015 season with his debut at the Metropolitan Opera. Yunpeng Wang was introduced by the most significant opera newspapers and on the cover of the October edition of Opera News as a rising opera star.

Foxes To Perform At The Liverpool Academy This Coming March.

After a stomping performance on television’s favourite returning music show TFI Friday and riding the wave of anthemic belter Better Love, Foxes announces her biggest U.K. tour to date, playing 12 dates including a show at the Liverpool 02 Academy on Hotham Street on Saturday 12th March. .

It’s been a busy month for Foxes (aka Louisa Rose Allen) who released the storming heart felt Better Love which impacts this week and is currently on a sold out U.K. tour, playing London’s Heaven tonight. The 25 year old was also announced as an Ambassador for the Amy Winehouse Foundation and presented Queen with their Classic Single at the Q Awards.

The Legendary Everyman Rock ‘N’ Roll Panto Returns With Rapunzel: Hairway To Heaven This Festive Period.

This year’s legendary rock ‘n’ roll panto at the Everyman will be Rapunzel: Hairway to Heaven written by regular duo Sarah A Nixon and Mark Chatterton. The cast includes legendary double-act Adam Keast and Francis Tucker as well as L.I.P.A. graduate Stephanie Hockley as Rapunzel, while Marianne Benedict, Sam Haywood and Tom Connor also feature. This ‘Tangled’ version of the Bothers Grimm’s tale is at the Hope Street venue from 28th November to 23rd January.
