Luftrausers (PS Vita), Game Review.

Liverpool Sound and Vision Rating 8.5 out of 10

Luftrausers is a side scrolling arcade aerial combat dogfighting game available for download from the PlayStation Store for the PS Vita and PS3. The game started out life as a popular Flash game called Luftrauser in 2011 before gradually being redefined and having new content built on top of it in between other projects Vlambeer were working on at the time to substantially improve the overall experience.

Murasaki Baby, Game Review. PS Vita.

Murasaki Baby is a side scrolling platform adventure game available for download from the PlayStation Store for the PS Vita. The game was announced at GamesCom 2013 to much acclaim and anticipation, so the ultimate question entering the release must be; can the final build of the game stand up to the hype?

The story of Murasaki Baby sees the lead character that is abstractly referred to as Baby rather than a distinctive name being lost a nightmarish world full of her worst fears as she explores various moods in an attempt to find a way back into the safety of her mother.

Flockers (PS4), Game Review.

Flockers is a platforming puzzle game available from retail stores and for download from the PlayStation Store for the PS4. The game is a modern take on the Lemmings formula brought to PS4 owners by Team 17; the same developer responsible for such retro classics as Alien Breed, Superfrog and Worms, alongside the more recent retro revivals for each of the three popular and well loved games.

OlliOlli (PS4), Game Review.

OlliOlli is a side scrolling skateboarding and extreme sports game available for download from the PlayStation Store for the PS4. Roll7 released OlliOlli on PS Vita in January 2014 to much critical acclaim and also winning GameSpot’s Game of the Month Award for January 2014, but the ultimate question has to be if the PS4 version improves on the foundations that were laid by the original PS Vita release.

Gravity Crash Ultra (PS Vita), Game Review.

Gravity Crash Ultra is a twin-stick shooter game available for download from the PlayStation Store for the PS Vita. The game is an enhanced port of the PS3 game Gravity Crash, which was released in November 2009 and for the PSP in July 2010.

The Swapper (PS4 Game Review)

The Swapper is a side scrolling puzzle adventure game available for download from the PlayStation Store for the PS4, PS3 and PS Vita. This particular game has been recognised with a number of high calibre awards since 2011, such as winning the Indie Showcase award at the Develop Conference 2011 and the Special Recognition award at IndieCade 2011, which certainly helped to bring the game to light as Curve Studios has brought Facepalm Games’ The Swapper to PlayStation platforms.

Hohokum (PS4). Game Review.

Hohokum is an adventure title available for download from the PlayStation Store for the PS4, PS3 and PS Vita. The game is a creative collaboration between the developer Honeyslug and the artist Richard Hogg that seeks to provide a unique experience that is free of any enemies and is purely dedicated to non-linear exploration in a relaxing world.

Entwined (PS4), Game Review.

Entwined is a unique abstract exploration and evolutionary game available for download from the PlayStation Store for the PS Vita, PS3 and PS4. The development team at Pixel Opus is a merging of graduate talents from Carnegie Mellon’s Entertainment Technology Centre and the San Jose State University Animation and Illustration program, therefore considering this is Pixel Opus’ first ever game; it is an interesting evaluation of the team’s collective talents.

Velocity 2X is a part twin-stick shooter, part platform game available for download from the PlayStation Store for the PS4 and PS Vita. The game is the much anticipated sequel to the multi award winning Velocity that was originally released in May 2012 as part of the PlayStation Minis range before receiving an overhaul under the title Velocity Ultra and releasing natively upon the one year anniversary of the original game for PS Vita in May 2013 and on PS3 in November 2013.

MouseCraft (PS4), Game Review.

MouseCraft is a platforming puzzle game available for download from the PlayStation Store for the PS4, PS3 and PS Vita. The game is a result of the formula Tetris meets Lemmings as you guide the mice to the cheese at the end of the level by guiding the mice through various puzzles.

MouseCraft tells the story of a crazy cat scientist called Schrödinger who is attempting to create a mysterious machine powered by mice, which sees you having to guide mice through the course of eighty levels set across four stages with a variety of puzzles and hazards.
