Pure Pool (PS4), Game Review.

Liverpool Sound and Vision Rating 9/10

Pure Pool is a sports game available for download from the PlayStation Store for the PS4. It is most likely for gamers to have heard of Pure Pool’s developer and publisher as they are a perfect match with VooFoo Studios and Ripstone having previously worked together on Big Sky Infinity and Pure Chess, while VooFoo Studios have also developed Backgammon Blitz and had a previous foray into the world of pool with Hustle Kings.

Hotline Miami, (PS4). Game Review.

Hotline Miami is a top-down 2D action shooter game available for download from the PlayStation Store for the PS4, PS3 and PS Vita. The game was originally created by the two man team of Jonatan Söderström and Dennis Wedin at Dennaton Games and released for Windows on October 23rd 2012 by the publisher Devolver Digital who then recruited Abstraction Games to port Hotline Miami to the Vita and PS3 for a release on June 26th 2013 and now a further enhanced version for PS4. Since the original PC release of Hotline Miami it has became such a sleeper hit that it has garnered many award nominations and awards with a sequel titled Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number set for release in late 2014 with the PS4 version of the game acting as a way to provide a new opportunity to entice gamers into the world of Hotline Miami and to even provide gamers with a reason to return to the first game before the release of the sequel.

Crimsonland, PS4 Game Review.

Crimsonland is a top-down shooter game available for download from the PlayStation Store for the PS4. Crimsonland is a re-make of a game known by the same name that was released for Windows in 2003 and was actually 10Tons’ first ever game with the re-make providing a rather fitting celebration of a special milestone of having endured over a decade in the videogames industry! A decade in the videogames industry is not exactly easy, but congratulations are not just in order for over a decade in the industry, but also for such a diversity of games from Sparkle to King Oddball and even Crimsonland showcases a clear departure from one another, which takes plenty of enthusiasm, guts and imagination to achieve, so long live the exceptional indie games and long may they continue to flow onto PlayStation consoles for many years to come! However, does Crimsonland shape up to the same level of quality as their Sparkle games and King Oddball?

Game Review: Mahjong Gold (PS Vita)

Mahjong Gold is a traditional Chinese puzzle game available for download from the PlayStation Store for the PS Vita. With Mahjong: Royal Towers and Mahjong: World Contest both being exceptional Mahjong games questions will surely be asked that can the sequel Mahjong Gold match up to or perhaps even better its predecessors?

There are six different categories of levels that are referred to as contests with each contest spanning twenty levels totalling to an amazing 120 levels! Each of the six contests has a specific name including: Lagoon of Trials; Mariner; Bootsmann; Midshipman; Captain; and Admiral with each being tied to a difficulty level ranging all the way from newbie to experienced, expert, master and champion.

Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty is a 2.5D platform adventure game available for download from the PlayStation Store for the PS4, PS3 and PS Vita. The game is the much anticipated remake of the classic Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee from the era of the original PlayStation in 1997 with the remake finally arriving seventeen years and three generations later; the question is simply if Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty can live up to the expectations of what has went before it in the Oddworld universe.

Super Turbo Championship Edition is an enhanced port of Guacamelee! that released on PS3 and Vita in April 2013 and is brought to you by the developers of Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack and Tales From Space: About A Blob.

PixelJunk Shooter Ultimate, Game Review. PS4, PS VIta

PixelJunk Shooter Ultimate is a twin-stick shooter game available for download from the PlayStation Store for the PS4 and PS Vita. Double Eleven have brought PixelJunk Shooter Ultimate to the PS4 and PlayStation Vita; you have most likely heard of Double Eleven as they have a great pedigree of their own with such great games as LIMBO, PixelJunk Monsters Ultimate HD, Frozen Synapse Tactics and most notably of all Little Big Planet PS Vita.

Puddle (PS4), Game Review.

Puddle is a physics based puzzle game available for download from the PlayStation Store for the PS4. Puddle originated as an entry for the Independent Gaming Festival at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) in 2010, which received a Student Showcase prize. The PS4 version of the game is an enhanced port that combines the best components and content of the PS3 and Vita versions.

Cel Damage HD, Game Review (PS4).

Cel Damage HD is a car combat game available for download from the PlayStation Store for the PS4, PS3 and PS Vita. Cel Damage was originally released two generations ago on such consoles as the PS2 and GameCube in 2001. Cel Damage HD is a HD remake of the original that brings the game up-to-date for the PS4, PS3 and Vita to appeal to the many gamers that still to this very day have fond memories of the original, but how does the HD remake stack up in comparison to the original release?
