The Suns, Immaterial Days. Single Review.

Liverpool Sound and Vision Rating 8.5/10

The hope of a New Year can often be filled with expectation that is derived from fighting the anxiety of the one that is passing by, that our projection is one that can find us trapped in the same old routine, the same passing fears, the orgy of resolutions laid waste, fallen soldiers on the mound of good intentions and one that can seem to find the future, the tomorrows of our future possibility rather than days which seem immaterial.

The Suns, Serve 9. Album Review.

Liverpool Sound and Vision Rating 8.5/10

In a time when to serve more than just a bubble is a political no-no, to find a thrill in the distribution of one willing, able, passionate enough to Serve 9, then the year with all its faults and Loki like mayhem, is one to be grateful for.

The Suns, Everything’s Coming Up Roses. Single Review.

Liverpool Sound and Vision Rating 8.5/10

A tribute does not always go hand in hand with respect, at best a moment recaptured can glow like the sun in the sky without a single cloud obscuring it, bright, worshipful, praiseworthy from all concerned, and then there are the times when it comes as crass, irresponsible, censured by parties and public alike. Tribute and respect though is an honour to which Liverpool’s The Suns hold deep in their souls, and when it comes to one of the city’s own, when it comes to the deep beauty that Colin Vearncombe provided in his guise of Black.

The Suns, Time To Burn. Album Review.

Liverpool Sound and Vision Rating 9/10

When you are invited to a moment, a time in which the company of friends and those you love are going to be gathered around with smiles forever painted upon their faces, in which you already have the feeling that the moment is going to be one of joy, significance, a curiosity of attraction and passion, and then it suddenly becomes one of the most spontaneous, revealing, soul impacting and wonderful consequences down the line experiences; it makes you wonder about all the Time To Burn you once enjoyed and knowing that it all changes here.

The Suns, Everyone Is Lying. Single Review.

Liverpool Sound and Vision Rating 8.5/10

The whole world is at it, even the virtuous and those who claim the moral high ground, from politicians down to all of us who increasingly reply, I’m fine to the question How are you?, it seems as though that Everyone Is Lying; we all know it, we cannot help it but the world would probably see revolution everywhere if we suddenly decided to tell the truth.

The Suns, Tears Me Away. Single Review.

Liverpool Sound and Vision Rating * * * *

The Suns return to the thoughts of Liverpool’s music loving public with a superbly arranged track which does wonders for the senses and for the craftsmanship of song-writing; one that really does showcase how a group or a duo can take their songs to a different level and perspective without losing quality and the prospects of who they are or what they stand for. It is a song that you find listening to more than just a few times in a row and one that you will find difficult to tear yourself away from.
