There are times in your life, if you have been fortunate to have been bitten by the bug that salivates over the pleasurable moans of a well played guitar and the heartbeat rising when the drum kicks in, the bass and the somehow deep and meaningful lyrics come into play and the recognition that the song reflects not only your mood but your life, it is those times that you know that Classic Rock has got down deep and personal in your life and the song, no matter how much it remains the same, is there to be loved and remembered.

It is the genre for which most arguably feel the stirrings of blood heading towards the heart as if it was on fire, the hose full of water and the draining of the reservoir not enough to quench the undying inferno which rages with passion and excitement. Classic Rock is a genre that might have its detractors but for those the drum kick hunts and the guitar follows like a wolf in the night, insatiable hunger wanting to be sated, it is more than just a type of music, it is the point of existence.

The mood is always infectious when certain classic Rock songs make an appearance on the public bar juke box, the anticipation of what track is going to appear next, what standard or anthem will have the crowd singling loudly and what will have the tear of regret and the memory of a particular moment forever seared into the brain. Music arguably has that ability to make the brain remember valuable recollections more so than any other art form and as the crescendo of The Classic Rock Show reached ever higher, as the Philharmonic Hall crowd were swayed and teased with greatness, so the memory of Time was played out to some of the unbeatable guitar riffs and unforgettable lyrics.

Even now there is a kind of reverence attached to finding a good Rock pub and seeing in the corner a juke box. Shuffling over, walking past the possible bruising and certain derogatory tones should your choices fill the place with ire or at the very least, a tut from the resident barman who will give you a blank look all night when you try to order a beer, you take a cursory glance at the music on offer and finding a pound in amongst the lint and fluff, make your well-armed choice.
