In many ways Hollywood has not changed a single bit since someone put up a soundstage, started the cameras rolling for the first time and a voice in the background shouted out with a booming voice, action. Men have always called the shots, it isn’t right, it can be downright obscene and for many, change has just not happened quickly enough.

Inside every writer, is the journalist they want to be and when the right story breaks, when the article or report that falls into their lap that could make their name, there always is a price that is to be paid that comes attached to it; a price that some are not willing to pay and some find too enormous to bring down. When the subject matter is corruption within one of the fabled estates of the land, the hesitancy in pursuing the story may be understandable for the price is taking away people’s faith, it is the Spotlight on which some might not recover.

The Christmas schedule is such that it falls deeply into the realms of asking the viewer to remember others and the tireless work they do, it is a noble act but one in which many will find themselves just having on in the background in between munching on the last mince pie or playing a game with the children.

There are films in which the abundance of talent on offer simply overwhelms the story line, the procession of acting nobility so engulfing, so crushing, that the film dies a thousand scripted deaths; it never truly lives up to the dignity envisioned off screen and the grace offered in the initial stages of casting. Thankfully this is not the issue when it comes to A Little Chaos.
