There are certain musicians that when they leave the stage after a gig they leave a gaping hole so large that it never seems possible to ever fill it again. The gig may have been tremendous but that lingering presence is enough to just fill the evening with the slight tinge of regret. Imagine then the wake of rippling, surging emotions for a city who had taken a musician of sterling quality under their wing and adopted, as it is that city’s right to do so, to find that she was going to finally go back home to her native Norway. That hole for many looked deep, bleak and never ending.

Liverpool’s Little Atoms Announce All Female Music Line Up For Their In Conversation With Lynda La Plante.

Little Atom Productions are delighted to announce the first all-female music line-up in their hugely successful Liverpool ‘In Conversation’ series, whose next interview subject is legendary Liverpool crime writer Lynda La Plante at the stunning Concert Room at St George’s Hall on Tuesday 10th September.

The events feature five separate musical acts, each of which performs one of the famous interviewee’s five favourite pieces of music. The series so far has seen acts as varied as a classical guitar rendition of Are Friends Electric? by Tubeway Army and a 25-strong Baroque choir from Waterloo singing music by Henry Purcell but this will be the first time all five songs are performed entirely by women.

The Second Ever Liverpool Music Awards Gathers Pace For Launch On April 30th.

The launch for the second ever Liverpool Music Awards takes place on Tuesday 30th April at Liverpool Town Hall. Liverpool born D.J. Janice Long will be hosting the event and Mayor Joe Anderson will be making speech on behalf of Liverpool City Council. With performances from two of last year’s Liverpool Music Awards winners, The Hummingbirds, who won the Ones to Watch Award and Ali Ingle who picked up the gong for Male Artist of the Year. Alex Evans will also perform Rise and Fall at the launch.
