The Truce, E.P. Review.

Liverpool Sound and Vision Rating 9/10

It is remembered as a point in time in which Humanity gained a little perspective in a world that had gone completely and utterly insane. The leap of faith in which hundreds of soldiers, who only hours before had been shooting at each other in a conflict that none of them truly understood the reason for which it was being fought, met in the middle of a scrap of Earth called No-Man’s Land and declared a truce that would have lasting repercussions and the small smile of peace installed in the hearts of generations to come. The Truce was the moment in which peace broke out and man put down his weapon against all that had gone before him.

Battle Of The Atlantic, 70th Anniversary Charity Album. The Lord Mayor Of Liverpool’s Charity Album 2013/2014.

Liverpool Sound and Vision Rating * * * * *

To commemorate Councillor Gary Millar becoming The Lord Mayor of Liverpool a unique C.D. has been produced for The Lord Mayor’s Charity appeal. Aptly as it also is the 70th Anniversary of one of Britain’s defining moments as well as the City of Liverpool’s then Battle of the Atlantic, 70th Anniversary Charity Album is a special C.D. to buy, as well as being full of incredible covers of the songs that saw Britain through the dark days of the World War Two.

Parr Street Studios has Liverpool iconic status stamped heavily all over it. Its reputation as a place of musical birth is legendary. Bands, rocks groups and the odd solo star have recorded albums there, albums that have gone on to be best sellers. Even in the last few weeks Liverpool legends Space have recorded their long awaited new album there. Parr Street studios may not be instantly recognisable say as the waterfront skyline that visitors from across the globe see as they travel up the Mersey and dock underneath the three graces. Not as the much visited homes of the four Beatles or even as Penny Lane.
