Time is complicated for The Doctor and his companions enough without adding the distraction of a Black Hole into their lives but when answering a distress call from a robot who finds the offering of tea a wholesome and pursuit worthy activity, Black holes become the least of The Doctor’s problems.

The Doctor never runs unless he has to, unless there is a specific reason and as he enters the end game against the terrifying Timelord known as The Eleven, the thought of running would not have been held against him or his two companions Liv Chenka and Helen Sinclair; for in the darkness of The Satanic Mill no light truly shines in hope.

The fourth box set of the highly popular adaptations of The Avengers lost episodes series sees both Dr. Keel and John Steed take a bit of a back seat in the opening chapter and one that with all the best will in the world feels as though it is still feeling the after effects of the falling out between the two characters at the end of Volume Three.

What Noises Off brings to the stage, is the sense of what regional theatre really is like, fly by the seats mayhem, utter confusion and misunderstanding and above all just the most amazing and side splittingly funny couple of hours you can ever hope to have in a theatre.
The Lowry in Salford is the latest venue to host Michael Frayn’s incredible farce and with a cast that you just want to carry on forever, causing mayhem and theatrical anarchy as they go.
