Rainbow Colours Spread Love And Pride City Wide.

 

Liverpool has turned all the colours of the rainbow – and with the help of Liverpool Pride’s headline sponsor Barclays, even the city’s world-famous Liver Birds have become birds of paradise on their posts high above the River Mersey to celebrate the return of Liverpool Pride Festival 2017.

The countdown is now on until the eighth consecutive Liverpool Pride Festival, which takes place across the weekend of Saturday 29th July and Sunday 30th July in the grounds of the spectacular St. George’s Hall Liverpool.

Mersey Singer Marc Almond Makes Liverpool Pride Debut At 2017 Festival

Free Festival Will Return To St. George’s Quarter For Second Year.

 

Liverpool Pride Festival has revealed that acclaimed Mersey singer Marc Almond will headline the Summer 2017 event.

The former Soft Cell front man is originally from Southport. He has sold over 30 million records worldwide, and is appearing at Liverpool Pride for the first time just weeks after he celebrates his 60th birthday.

This is the eighth consecutive year of Liverpool Pride, a free two-day event celebrating all things L.G.B.T. This year’s festival takes place on Saturday 29th July and Sunday 30th July 2017 returning to St. George’s Quarter for the second year.

Liverpool’s Business Community Is Being Encouraged To Support A New Initiative To Raise Awareness Of City’s LGBT Communities And Liverpool Pride Festival 2016.

Organisers of Liverpool Pride Festival 2016 are inviting the city’s retail and commercial sectors to get behind Dress With Pride, an exciting new addition to the festival for 2016.

Dress With Pride will see customer facing organisations – such as shops, bars, restaurants, visitor attractions, hotels and offices – allow their employees to swap their usual uniforms and work attire to don colourful and creative costumes throughout the week of the Liverpool Pride Festival 2016.

Businesses taking part will be showing their support for Liverpool Pride Festival 2016; their LGBT staff and customers; the city; and the wider LGBT communities.

Liverpool Pride Announces ABBA Gold And Sam Fox Joining Heather Small And Sonia As Part Of This Year’s Celebrations.

Liverpool Pride are proud to announce the latest acts set to perform at this year’s event on Saturday 2nd August. Joining the list of confirmed acts are top Kylie Minogue tribute Kylie-A-Like, Super-Trouper tribute ABBA GOLD and 80s sensation Sam Fox, with even more acts to be announced soon and tickets are selling fast!

The newly confirmed acts will join performers Heather Small (M People), pop songstress Sonia and headline act Katy B. This year Liverpool Pride introduces three ticketed pay zones, including the Waterfront Stage, Stanley Street Stage and the Garlands & G-Bar Stage which will play host to lots more great entertainment at part of this year’s ‘Glam Fairy Tale’ themed Pride event.

The heat in Liverpool, even at ten in the morning, has begun to drain people and what feels like the longest heat-wave since 1976 takes on the atmosphere in the city and it feels strangely quiet around the area of St. Luke’s as crowds flock to river to get some sea breeze and seek some sort of shelter against the summer sun. The Malmaison may have seen many sights in its short while in the city but the hotel and the staff could be forgiven if the sight of Gotham City’s finest crime fighting unit, Batman and Robin, handing out the programme of events ahead of the launch of this year’s Liverpool Pride to all, was one that had by-passed them…until today.

The reason for the dynamic duo, in reality Matt Belfield as Bruce Wayne’s alter ego and Dan Hicklin, suitably attired as his partner Robin, was soon apparent as Liverpool Pride this year will take over the City Centre superhero style on Saturday 3rd August.
